Truth be told, I think it's time Ghana start thinking more of it own and move away from it foreign policy of regional integration. Since no one in this West African region want to integrate and do trade. This means, Ghana would have to break all trade ties with a country that does not want to trade.

This means, GNPC will have to invest in it medium to long term plan to finance a gas pipeline from equatorial Guinea to Ghana and we all knows what a lost in market share will mean for Nigeria ( a country whose economy is 90% dependant on the sales of oil and gas)

Dangote's plan to have a share of the Ghanaian cement market, which is already less likely since Ghana's cement deficit is totally closed, could completely vanished

Ghana does not need to build a gas pipeline from equatorial guinea. All we need are gas regasified plants. With those plants in place, Ghana can buy LNG from any part of the world and use locally. Currently, two if such plants are being constructed in Ghana. On top of that, Ghana currently produces about 100million scf/day of gas (almost the same volume currently imported from Nigeria) from its own Jubilee field. A further 300 million scf/d is expected in about 2years when production starts at the OCTP block, Offshore Ghana.

don't waste your time with these jerks! Most nigerians know their govts, since Obasanjo, had arbitrarily imposed a ban on imports of a range of items, even from Ecowas countries. And yet these same bigots are talking trash because Ghana sought to impose it's own restrictions? What sort of nonsensical reasoning is that? That it is fair for Nigeria to restrict imports and wrong for Ghana to do same? Such stvpidity!

Yeah, I know of the LNG plants being built, we all knows that it would still not be enough. A reliable constant flow of Gas from equatorial Guinea is also being considered as a solution to an unreliable Nigeria. Ghana with it good neighbor policy can also take advantage of a stable partner like E.Guinea to assure it energy future and that of it neighbors like ivory coast and Togo. Thereby making Ghana a major player in the West African energy market

Its funny that this case as been on for years and people always thought Nigeria was the victim. I guess it's clear now. Mahama complained about Nigeria protectionism but people considered him to be a cry baby. Well there will be no crying this time but doing what's good for business . I hope we learn and develop the indigenous market. Heard about the project ten? Am sure it will give Ghana a major energy boost
