I think the change is here... Maybe we did not get what they actually meant by change like when Bola Tinubu was campaigning for his second term when he said " Imagine, 4th mainland bridge " we later got to know was actually asking us to imagine it not that he was gonna build it

This is not a country! I dont know what to call it, we pay the highest tariff in everything, dstv, telecomm, power, air fair, fuel pump price, etc.

We are living in a jungle where survival is for the fittest. Damn!

I'm not surprise at all, since fashola became the then governor of Lagos state all he did was unlawful and abstract taxation that exist no where else in the world.

when you all where chanting change then nko?? this is just the beginning, let's seat back and enjoy it till 2019 by then the foolish among us must have wise up to know that APC lacks the competent and experience to govern the federation. the only thing its good at is opposition.

Please how effective is your inverter?

Mine: a 1.5kva inverter with solar and yet I switch on my generator frequently. I regret buying the solar panel because I see no use of same.

Na change na

Personally I resort to buying inverter.

You made mistake here. It was people like you who encouraged Jonathan to sell power sector to individuals because you guys believed that once the power sector is in the hand of capitalists, electricity supply would automatically improve. You guys even said that you didn't mind paying higher tariff if it is privatised. You still believe that government can dictate tariff to the capitalists after privatization, wake up. MYTO was put in place not under Buhari/Osinbajo as want us to believe, their hands are tied. You guys wanted Jonathan to privatise Naija and he had done so. So, enjoy. P

Patisan politics has blindfolded u. The truth is now bitter for u to accept. Is Nigeria a developed country? We draw comparison with African countries that hv got an appreciable development. Egypt, South Africa Republic etc are far ahead of Nigeria in terms of development. Then, why are we paying higher tarrif than them? Fashola ur evil deeds will not overlooked.

I don't know how true this tariff comparison is. In South Africa where I resided for sometime, we payed about 1.5 Rands per KWh of Electricity, which is roughly about 27 Naira per KWh. My monthly electricity bill was roughly about 6300 Naira per month. I can't say of Egypt because I have never lived there...
6300naira for 24hr light everyday for one month,
In our case here we pay 20,000. 3mins light everyday for one month

you might be shocked. note that this was Nigeria price as at 2013
Re: Nigerians Pay Highest Tariff Per Kilowatt In Africa’ by Mekyno(m): 9:42am On Feb 22, 2016
Why will we spend more wit few hours of electricity supply?
We dnt hv strong unions/ civil society groups to speak for us against dis ills.
Hw can we hv different price per KiloWatt in d same nigeria? Is 1kw in kaduna/abuja (16 to 24 naira per kw) different frm 1kw in enugu/ibadan (25...to 37 naira per kw).
Also, Our politicians are our major problem; they take huge bribes frm dis firms, buy d firms n make things very difficult/costly 4 us (wit no law to checkmate them), hav a percentage in d earning/revenue of d power firms etc.
D power firms hav refused to do wat dey needed to do 1st bt wat to suck our pockets dry wit little/no light available.
May God help Nigeria.

Nice point you made but most times when we compare pricing to other countries we fail to consider the corresponding hourly earning of a Nigerian and those countries.

Sorry to rain on your parade guys.....but

It is GEJ.....your dear GEJ'S fault.

GEJ privatised the power sector.....meaning that prices had to go up, because government is no longer funding the power sector anymore. So the DISCOS had to get money....and it had to be tarrif raises.

Plus....the increase was a part of the agreement with the DISCOS signed when GEJ was in power.

So...stop blaming Fashola. He has nothing to do with this.

Wailers.....it is never their fault....even when it is.

i agree with you 100%. i was wondering N6300 for 1 month !!!!!!!!

with the old tariff i was using about N25k per month with 12hrs supply daily o! then now with new tariff, im almost using N40k per month with 9hrs supply daily.

abeg all those bio-diesel, garbage-to-light and its likes, i need una contact. im ready to try any other source of power.

That must be estimated consumption, I have seen that many times in Nigeria. The bad aspect of this is that they never come to read the meters nor reconcile the excess electricity billing with meter reading.

In this case....who privatised power?

Sorry....but it was not Buhari.

You can blame Buhari for many things....but not the tariff raise....especially as it was done by private companies...not by the government...based on an agreement signed by GEJ and co....when he was in power.
