All roads in the state capital are stone based, from Nkaliki to meat market Road to Hossana park to Ezza Road etc, the whole state are being touched as I post this message.
It is here that Abia state governor borrowed the idea of stone base roads.

I am tired of all these praise-singing. Our government should provide these things without hassle. It is our basic right, where a government fails to do that, we either make their seats too hot or we chase them out! Things shouldn't get to this level where we now have to be singing praises because a governor is doing what he should do with public fund.

This particular road was hell on earth. I served in Ebonyi in 2005 and we use to ply this road to Abakaliki....men, the thought of travelling on the road alone is enough to induce sickness not to talk of the actual journey.
Give the nation to a generation of builders and not looters and you will witness transformation everywhere.

this isnt a rigid pavement what u guys call concrete roads.

so no reinforcement is required.

from my observations from the picture,
this is a flexible pavement.
the red soil is the subbase [lateritic material]
while the stuff that looks like cement is the base course material and its called .stone base.
after which other binding materials eg mc1 will be added before of course the asphalt will be laid and we have your road

i will advice that the stone base is not properly mixed,from the surface you can see that is very rough that indicate that those places will crack by the time asphalt is lay on in.the mixture suppose to be either 9 to 3 or 6 to 2 or 9 to 2 to 1. of fine sand.
