Yes , he immediately enrolled for his PGD and did Master's straight afterwards , that was 2003 - 2005 after his NYSC , 2001/2002 September set. Surprisingly he was one of the best Master's student for his set and he put in for his Ph.D thereafter , he was awarded his Doctorate in 2014 and an employment in FUTO . I can mention his name but for privacy sake I don't think it is ethical. I'm pretty sure the 3rd class he got in his first degree pushed him to attain what he has today , failure will either give you more fight or will knock you down permanently , the choice is yours.

OP, with a CGPA of 2.89, i can't say for your 1st question cos it depends but 2 and 3 are the most possible, no need of any post grad diploma since no b third class, na 2-2.

1. Can I do my masters in software design and networking directly?
2. Can I do my masters outside the country with that CGPA?
3. I was told by a friend I had to do a post graduate diploma in my school before I can do any masters programm (how true is this? ).

You can do a lot with your GPA. That is above average. Very many schools abroad will accept that for Masters degree. It is not true that you must do a PGD(except maybe in Canada). Virtually all the universities in UK and very many good schools in US, Australia etc will accept your GPA for a straight Masters. Do not be discouraged at all by anyone.

A one time dean in the faculty I graduated from had 3rd class but furthered and became a Prof... Arguably the most respected and influential prof the faculty had in recent times...


Op check some schools might accept you directly while others would require you to do PGD first...Be positive....

I cant even remember what I made. its irrelevant to me. the truth is; I dont know exactly where my certificate is. if you tell me to produce it, you will have to give me sometime to look for it. thank you.

@emex4gman, I believe you can tie down admission for direct masters in many unis overseas. I graduated in same uni with you. But in a different dept(history and international relations,). Now gurus in the house, I am on d verge of registering for ielts and with a cgpa of 4.49. I plan to master in pure international relations abroad. But my headache is if scholarship is sth that is possible. After searching for schools, I found some good ones offering my course like university of British Columbia, Alberta, uni Vancouver, dalhousie, uni Stuttgart, uni Berlin, and some in USA. Now, must I write gre if I am to concentrate on Canada and are there Canadian schools that give things like free tuition waiver? I seriously need your input as time an age is running. Man gats get MSc bf 30.ur assistance is indeed needed.
