Abuja -The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is set to arraign two Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN), Rickey Tarfa and Dr Joseph Nwobike, at the Lagos State High Court for alleged bribery.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Commission`s Head of Media and Publicity, Mr Wilson Uwujaren. According to the statement, the two SAN are both accused of offering gratification running into millions of naira to judges to influence decisions in their favour.

It said that Tarfa was facing a 27-count charge of alleged wilful obstruction of authorised officers of EFCC and refusing to declare asset. The statement said that Tafa also gave false information to an EFCC officer and offered gratification to a public official.

One of the count-charges against Tarfa, the statement said, was that he gave the sum of N 1.5 million to Justice Nganjiwa Hyeladzira Ajiya of the Federal High Court.

The statement added that Dr Joseph Nwobike (SAN) also intentionally gave the sum of N750, 000 to Justice Mohammed Yunusa of the Federal High Court. This, it said, he did in order that the said Judge acts in the exercise of his official duties in his favour.

A top pastor in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, is currently running from pillar to post to clear his name as well as keep his church members after his church's Praise and Worship leader went on the social media to release very graphic photos of the two of them having 3ex in different hotels, and even in his matrimonial home.

It was gathered that the girl got angry when the randy pastor who is said to have slept almost all the ladies in his church, dumped her after she got pregnant and refused to go for yet another abortion.

While the war between the secret lovers was raging, the pastor allegedly removed the girl as the Praise and Worship leader, labeling her as being possessed with an evil spirit.

The repercussion is what he never expected as the girl carried her threat of destroying not only him, but his church and marriage.

The war against corruption is a long and difficult one.....but it is a war that must be fought, and a war that Nigerians must not leave EFCC alone to fight.

And it starts by acknowledging that corruption does not only take place in PDP or Abuja.....

Many SAN's do a great job. We should not scrap SAN...just because of the activities of a few corrupt ones.

We might as well scrap the teaching profession....because some teachers are lazy!

There are worthy SANs who have never soiled their garments. I think things are on course now that the fight against corruption has been extended to the judiciary. Scrapping the title will be a bad idea.

And what about the judge(s) involved? Bribery is two-way, give and receive. Are they going to be arraigned or Were they working in tandem with the EFCC otherwise this is a waste of time as they will wriggle themselves out somehow.

SANs are mostly corrupt

Why are most people charged with corruption are having. SAN as their lawyers ?

Why are SAN the riches lawyers in Nigeria ?

Why are most SAN friends to judges ?

Not all but most SAN are corrupt and they buy judgement and use technicalities to kill or delay justice, the EFCC must investigate judges and their collaborating lawyers

It will be for your own good if you try to educate yourself. Prosecution of suspects follows a process, and that is not concluded overnight. It has to follow its full course.

But that Joseph Nwobike, the name sounds somehow and one should not be surprised that a person with that name was involved.

Wrong analogy....

He asked that SAN be scrapped and not Lawyers.

All SAN are Lawyers but not all Lawyers are SAN right?

If you scrap Teachers, who will now teach but if you scrap only SAN we would still have Lawyers who will take on cases.

I just wanted to point out the wrong analogy you used. Happy sunday!

Your logic is right but do you know that SAN thing is now becoming an occult thing?Do you know that this same things was scraped in SA?Though an excuse was given but if you look deep down, you know the real reason.

You don't jail people like that in modern world. Justice is slow. And if these people are not even given bail conditions, it is people like you that would still be crying "rule of law".
I know that you are not happy that these people are being charged to courts, but just sit down and observe, one by one, they will find their way from federal high courts to supreme Court and finally to jail. It may take time, long time for that matter.
