Gotta respect the Awujale on all standards, money, swag, respect, title, age. The man don chop oba before Independence at a very young age. He got the history spot on. Alake go just dey vex by now. Alake has his respect n money too. His level grew with how Abeokuta has grown since 1830.

Refering the Alake as the paramount ruler of Egbaland, which covers Abeokuta, in itself is wrong. The title should be reverted to what it used to be, "Alake of Ake."

The only gravity that is holding Nigeria together is yoruba. If we yoruba say we don't want Nigeria anymore today, Nigeria will begin to disintegrate with immediate effect.

Does it make any second class Oba less a human? They should learn to place premium to priorities.

Which one of them didn`t sell their children to the white man for over 300 years? Let that one in Yorubaland stand up, then I would begin to respect you and take you seriously
When it was profitable for the last Ooni of Ife, Oba Sijuade said he was Ooni of Ile Ife not Ooni of Yorubaland; that was during the June 12 struggle when he wanted contract from Abacha. So only those that are stupid would be taking this lot seriously

This is arrant balderdash. Nobody will rewrite the history of yorubaland on the platter of ego tripping. How on earth will anyone say alake is junior when historical and government records rate him as first among equals in ogun state. As far as the chairmanship of obas in ogun state is concerned, Alake takes precedence over the awujale. Even in federal government circles, d story is d same

History season.....lol.

But in all honesty, what are the importance of all these Obas? If not this new Ooni of Ife that looks promising to uplift the face of the youth and to create jobs and development for his people, what else?

The last time I was in Ijebu-Ode, I was even ashamed (because of sorry state of all the roads and other infrastructures in the city) that, yet they will claimed that they have a renowned King, and not to talk of all the wastefulness of all the indigenous whenever the "Ojude Oba" is around.

Shouldn't the look of their town/city be more important to them? Must they leave everything for the government to come and do for them? Isn't Ijebu-Ode the seat of the CEO of FCMB?....and some Ijebu rich people?

I'm sometimes ashamed that they are only good in showing off their wealth @ parties and outward appearances, but yet, their homes are not something to behold.

Obas in Yoruba land should stand up and run the affairs of their domains like it used to be in the olden time. And they should stay clear off from partisan politics. All this first class or third class issues naa story, they should rule truthfully on their subjects.

I think it's the issue of young age and not being prepared to be King from birth. It all came suddenly.

He has to learn on the job.

This supremacy talk should have been quelled right from the beginning by a more experienced Ooni.

The politics and diplomacy of kingship are very important skills.
