What I find amazing and totally abhorrent is the fact that we can all cry at a movie, but when a couple of million people die in Rwanda we do not bat an eyelid.

Very sad and very true and what of the war in Liberia that resulted in so many deaths? Where were the tears and the help then? Or Zimbabwe? The list is sadly endless.

I see your butt has been bitted by the generalization bug! My interest in human rights issues has nothing to do with being noticed - honestly I'd be happy if the world just passed me by without noticing me. Some of us are just compassionate about the crap being done to others and we try to do something about it. I wasn't aware there was anything wrong with wanting to better the lives of other people. Life isn't always about the person you see every time you look in the mirror. That's what's wrong with the world. People care too much about themselves and not enough about others.

Based on many or your posts, that I've read, I'll absolutely agree that you're not a typical male.

Outside this forum my main focus for discussion is human rights issues - so you see it's not always easy to determine the personality of someone online
