thesicilian: 1. God did not give them names, it was Adam who named them
2. Just because there is a name for these things doesn't mean they exist. If only you know that most of these names are just the products of the imaginations of the writers who first wrote about them in novels and storytelling books/movies. I can decide to write a story tomorrow describing my imaginary encounter with a mythical being and chose to call that being "kabazoola." That's how most of these names like unicorn, dragons came to be. I will tell you about a story about my own grandfather. If you doubt me, you can come to my place in Bayelsa state and ask about it. So, there was a tree that stood at a portion of one lady's farm for years, even before she was born. Because of the shade it gives, most farmers around it usually go under it to rest. And children used to climb it to play, too. So, on one faithful day during new planting season, the owner of the farm decided to cut down the tree in order to plant on the space it was taking. And when they fried to cut down the tree, it produced blood and it made movements that frighted the woman and the person she brought to do the job. But when they further fried to cut it, it became even more bizzare. So, they quickly dan home to inform other people in the community. And they went to withness what was happening. There they discovered that the tree was not just a tree but a high python snake. And everyone became scared to killed it. But my own grandfather volunteered and finally cut it down and killed it. After some months and possibly years, an unknown lady started looking for him and asking for direction. And she was finally led to his house where she met him. There, the strange woman told him that she was the snake tree that he killed. She then threatened she will deal with him. She said that Why would he kill her when she did nothing to him; she never hurt anyone despite the years. She allowed people to come under her Shade yet she didn't harm anyone. So, after speaking those words, she moved. And just before my grandfather would get out of the shock to even say a word, the strange woman was nowhere to be found. And not quite long, he took ill and died. This is a true life story. |
Food › Re: Chioma Okoli: Court Remands Erisco Tomato Paste Reviewer In Prison Over Comment by 2elliot: 11:27pm On May 28, 2024 |
FreeStuffsNG: Recall that the CEO of Erisco Foods, Eric Omeofia, had alleged in 2023 that a negative product review by a customer, Chioma Egodi, negatively impacted his business when she claimed that the Nagiko Tomato Mix she bought had too much sugar.
Okoli’s lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, told the court that his client suffered miscarriage in the course of the case and eventually lost her baby.
Okoli is standing bordering on conspiracy and cyberstalking leveled against her.
O pari.
This erisco tomato paste matter should not have escalated to this extent in my opinion. The extent it has gone now is not helpful for an amicable resolution at all.
This is a lesson to everyone to be careful about the advice people give to you, especially if it's a legal opinion.
If you post a comment or say something the other party consider as offensive to his or her brand ,if your comment is a well-intentioned advice but ,unfortunately, taken wrongly, please just delete the comment(s), apologize to the one who took your feedback in a wrong way and move on with your life. If you're right, you will eventually be justified by posterity and one day the person who feels wronged today will credit you as the one who gave a truly sincere feedback yet you apologized for peace to reign. You become the bigger and more matured party eventually.
I will encourage her husband, family and lawyer to help her out of the current predicament. Let all the parties please explore amicable resolution options if it's not too late yet. It's good that she's being given the opportunity to defend herself so that justice can prevail.
May God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs! Very wise saying. But it goes both ways. Erisco should have allowed this matter to die a natural death. Nigerians with very short memory wouldn't have remembered her review the next hour or day after her review. But Erisco brought up, made it alive and kept it at the frontburner. |

Biglittlelois: Ad hominem on display, you have a problem with self reflection, your usual display of cluelessness when questioned or confronted speaks volumes on your level of IQ
If you are quick to understand things, or think properly before commenting, you'd be able to see that your attempt at faulting Yorubas on a culture that everyone agrees they are notable for, wouldn't be a problem to you, yet in your attempt to water it down, you had to look for something as baseless as LOVE as an excuse for respect
It's sad really, because RESPECT is something that should be imbibed into every human regardless of who you are or where you're from, it should be a basic instinct when meeting strangers, so next time, try to be fully smart, not smart by quarter. Stop protecting your stupidity on others, you treacherous being. |

Jessyjeff: Caucasians of British decent plundered and destroyed territories without remorse.
What Caucasians did to Africans, Red Indians and Aborigines will still be felt even in 1000 years from now. Unfortunately, such barbarian's greed for wealth and blood is unquenchable.
They have equally succeeded in making sure that Africans forget their own history. Didn't Obasanjo ban study of history in Nigerian schools? We hardly learn from bitter lessons in Africa. Africans have done greater evil on Africans than any Caucasian could have ever done in a million years. Caucasians have more empathy and conscience that any race of people. If the black ever had the advantage of technology over everyone else, wickedness would have been hundred folds. So, give the Caucasians a break. |

wirinet: I am from the Niger delta, one of the highest oil producing areas of the Niger Delta fir that matter. Can you please explain how your own ideas of resource control works. Even within the states of the Niger Delta, not every Local Government or community is an oil producing one. At least, most of the communities are among the impacted communities, either pipeline running through their lands, or proximity to gas flare. Aside that, it is high time healthy competition is encouraged. Communities or states without oil can take loans from those who have to start up major infrastructure that will enhance production. They can develop themselves with that and then be able to pay back the loan. Bayelsa can loan kaduna state or any other, and within stapulated time they will pay up. So we just want total control of our resources. I am from an oil producing community in Bayelsa; in fact my family is the host or landlord. It annoys me that my resources is shared with the northerners who keep their gold and others to themselves. And also the yorubas who undermine us through their support for one Nigeria that is not working. |
