Msauza: Military achievements: I gave you that answer long ago and I am surely not going to repeat myself.
no you gave me achievements of your special task force instead of military. unless you are trying to say your task force is better than your army grin

NaijaPikinGidi: Bloody liar! You only wish. I know your type and I can tell that you have no clue what you are seeing. Chei! Who can cure you of your stupidity? There are no such things as University Military Games in your real or imagined world in South Africa. I know. But then you are welcome to prove me wrong if you can! grin grin grin
don't mind the guy. he won't even last 2 weeks drilling in an NYSC camp. why do they think Nigerian youths stand out anywhere they go grin

zaandrew: we have mentioned them before from the boer war, ww1, ww2, border war.
sorry but these are old wars. and the bush war should not be considered an achievement cos it ended in a truce.

we have histories of those old wars as well. your comrades accused us of not having modern combat history, so am asking if you have fought any modern combat yourselves from 90s, neither do you have recent experience in peace enforcement.

Nigeria may not have fought country to country war probably cos no country dared to(cameroon ran to UN when they saw we were ready for war), but we have been at the forefront of peace enforcement missions in
some of the most dangerous conflicts in the world and we have never failed. that says a lot about our military.

an achievement SANDF will only dream about in 100 years.

@southafricans. Why is it that when i ask you simple questions you all hide your heads like tortoise?

First i asked for south african military achievements you all ran away.

Now i asked which modern conventional war has south africa fought, Msauza and the rest lost their tongues.
Even if it's rebels you recently defeated, Just give any.

Aside from your weapons industry, your military is a joke compared to Nigeria.

I gave exaample how Nigeria shunned and risked going to war with neighbouring countries around SL to intervene and bring back a deposed government and the S.TUPID CraigBitch's excuse for SA's failure in CAR is that they respect international law. What a joke

At least these countries have won wars. Which modern warfare did south africa ever fight?

Msauza: Zuma's intention was not to retreat, the parliament and political pressure is what forced Zuma to retreat from CAR. Zuma was told that countries cannot be used to stop coup d'etat in other countries.
another joke. nigeria stopped coups in siera leon and sao tome. Your leaders don't have a clue of African politics and so do you.

CraigB: Further embarrassing yourself. You can't use the phrase like that. Certainly not in reference to a person.

You're part of the 98%.

Trying to claw your way up from the pit of st*upidity that you dug yourself into.

I told you that insults require intelligence. You don't have it.

If anything was predictable, it was that you weren't going to ignore my posts for too long. Typical.
Later, the term took on another
expansion in its meaning. This time,
according to Martin, it was applied to
individuals (such as “he’s a real no-
brainer”).

Either way, a no-brainer is in such
popular use that any reference to a
dictionary is unnecessary. Nearly
everyone knows what it means. In
other words, it’s a no-brainer.
http://www.helium.com/items/2283565-what-is-a-no-brainer

can you see why i call you a waste of time?

Is this how am going to keep explaining myself to you whenever i give you the creative insults you keep asking for?

You don't seem to understand the meaning of the word "creative" and you beg for it.

Well, you don't sound like you understand yourself or anything anyway.

Just one and i had to school you thru the night to make you understand.

And after begging for my attention is this how to say thank you? You are very ungrateful.

Now be a good boy and behave or i'll seriously shun you.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by 2smooth2shout:
CraigB: Stuck in an English class, I see.

Someone with the patience should explain this to you.

Don't use phrases you don't understand, next time.
means you are easy to understand, very predictable(never make sense). and don't require any mental effort wasting time conversing with you. i can see how a creative insult you asked for still eludes your understanding.

you are a no-brainer on this thread. suck on it as i stop wasting my time with you. i permit you to quote me. so carry on boy
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by 2smooth2shout: 11:29pm On Jul 31, 2013
CraigB: And you have time to comment about such a response? grin SMH.

Anyway, no-brainer means "obvious and requires no thought". You've just agreed that my comments are a no-brainer. So obviously right that they require no response.

Explains the lack of substance in any of your responses.

So much for Naa-gerian intelligence. 82% Naai-gerians fail WAEC exams. Go figure.

Msauza: The Boko Haram come from the grave and strike yet again despite their purported defeat:

http://www.dailyguideghana.com/?p=90366
Islamic Terrorists Furious Over Recent Defeat

Boko Haram is putting out positive spin on the Internet, insisting it was not hurt by the two week old government offensive. But there was a lot of damage and one result was a sharp reduction in Boko Haram attacks and their operations in general. On the down side, the government believes that most of those killed or arrested were new recruits and less skilled Boko Haram operatives. What the army really wants is the few hundred most experience Boko Haram members, who have the skills to build bombs and plan attacks. Over a hundred of these returned from Mali since February. There they tasted defeat by the French/Chad offensive that is still hunting for remaining Islamic terrorists in northern Mali. But for many months the Boko Haram in Mali tasted power as the Islamic radicals ran northern Mali, using Islamic law (sharia) and terror to get things done. Actually, all that sharia and bad behavior ruined the economy and sent several hundred thousand civilians fleeing. It’s unclear if that made any impression on the Boko Haram Mali vets. They did return with a sense of urgency and the skills needed to increase attacks inside Nigeria.

The government arrested more than a hundred Boko Haram suspects and many of them did have a connection with Boko Haram, and some were willing to talk about it. By cross-checking the information provided it was possible to determine which was true and to what extent. Arrests are still being made and most Boko Haram members continue to be distracted by the need to avoid getting arrested.

What is known is that the army has halted cell phone service in much of the northeast, putting Boko Haram at a disadvantage because the army and police have their own radios to communicate with. The military says they also destroyed a Boko Haram hospital and fuel storage depot, as well as several training facilities. A lots of documents were captured as well, and these are still being studied and exploited. In response the United States has openly, and privately, asked the military to try and control their personnel and avoid the all-too-common killing of innocent civilians during these operations, as well as the frequent looting of their possessions.

June 1, 2013: It appears that some Boko Haram members may have been involved in an unsuccessful attack on the main prison in the capital of neighboring Niger. Several Boko Haram men are held prisoner there.

May 30, 2013: In the southwest (Oyo State) customs police found over 56,000 rounds of ammunition hidden in goods being brought in from neighboring Benin. Smuggling is big business in Nigeria and the customs police are good at spotting illegal goods. Usually that means a bribe to let the goods pass but in the case of items that might get the cops killed (like ammo), it’s more likely that the contraband will be seized (although other corrupt officials might make the stuff disappear from government custody and show up on the black market).

In the north police released 58 women and children taken into custody during recent raids on Boko Haram bases. Some of the children admitted that they had been paid to place bombs and scout for the adult terrorists but all 58 were granted amnesty. This gesture is part of an effort to get Boko Haram to negotiate a peace deal, something the Islamic terror group is still opposed to. Boko Haram leaders are angry about the recent army offensive and the heavy losses they have suffered (but deny and insist that the army was defeated). Admitting defeat would make Boko Haram much less effective because the group has terrorized much of the northeast largely because of its reputation of being able to hit anyone, anytime, anywhere (in the northeast at least). But now the army has killed or captured many Boko Haram members and caused the rest to scatter. That gives the locals some hope and the Boko Haram leadership fits.

May 29, 2013: Police arrested three Lebanese men who admitted they were members of pro-Iran Lebanese Islamic terror group Hezbollah. The police also revealed they had seized a Hezbollah arms cache in the northern city of Kano. The police believe Iran is using Hezbollah to provide support for Boko Haram and that one of the three men arrested was caught trying to smuggle $60,000 into the country.

May 26, 2013: In the northeastern city of Maiduguri police continue to round up Boko Haram members and confirmed that they had disrupted several planned attacks. In the last few days three Boko Haram men have been killed and 25 arrested in the city.

May 25, 2013: In the south police rescued four foreign oil workers (two Russians and two Ukrainians) kidnapped last April 22nd. In the north police have found and freed even more Nigerians who had been kidnapped for ransom (both by Boko Haram and local ghangsters).

May 24, 2013: Pirates attacked another ship (a small tanker) off the coast and are believed to have looted the vessel and kidnapped some of the 17 man crew

andrewza: we actualy offerd fomac the optsion for us to stay behind in CAR. they turned us down. now the cowards who fled the fight are there doing nothing well people are being butched and raped.
you don't seem to get my point. SA has an ambition of projecting power economically and militarily across africa and with that comes a price and big responsibilities "don't expect everyone to agree with your decisions".
you were dealt an embarrassing blow which gave you the opportunity to act in retaliation since it was rebels not government of CAR that killed your troops. the world expected you to act and you failed.

during the sierra Leon war. ivory coast, burkina faso and Liberia were against Nigeria's intervention and the rebels even got support from Liberia (not sure about the rest)which made it a bigger war. But Nigeria went ahead not minding the cost.

that's how you project power.

there was even a time gbagbo refused to grant Nigerian air force access through it's air space, threatened to shoot down our transport plane. But our government scrambled jets to escort the plane through ivory coast air space. thereby, risked getting involved in another war with them.

with power comes responsibilities and SA showed it wasn't ready to take on those responsibilities.

Msauza: They had to reinforce their army by teaming up with other militaries of neighbouring countries to form a task force. Nigeria cannot handle battles alone.
another ignorant comment. it's gradually becoming a norm for you undecided

the multinational joint task force was set up as joint patrol and protection of border regions connecting Nigeria, chad, Niger. Cameroon is a signatory but have not contributed so far(weak military).

their mandate also includes operating in boarder communities within this region. a Nigerian commands this force.
that's why you only hear about them when there are operations around boarder communities.

in your own opinion, insurgency can be cleared with only military action?

so tell me why Britain had to negotiate with IRA to finally have peace after years of fighting them with the best military in the world for decades?

why is the US begging Taliban for negotiations after 10+ of fighting them with a coalition of the best military forces in the world?

why did the turkish government had to finally negotiate with the PKK for peace after years of fighting them with the best military hardware(they even went on full scale war twice with every hardware they have)?

why is the second most powerful country in the world (russia) still unable to put down chechen rebels after decades of fighting them with some of the best equipments in the world?

why is India(the fourth most powerful country in the world) begging MAOIST rebels for negotiation after almost 4 decades of fighting them?

why is spain still battling ETA with their military might after decades?

please i need answers to these question since you've become such an expert in crisis management. undecided

same thing i've been begging them for two weeks now. The only history they seem to have is about two conflicts they didn't win.

First was the 30 years bush war. Who fights a war for 30 years with no victory and brag's about it if not losers.

Second is CAR which they actually LOST and retreated never to go back.

i think your list is unfair cos right now kenya and Uganda are better experienced than SA.

sA should only top the list of weapons producers in Africa. Not best army

Fighter Pilot: Agaugust is just claiming that Nigeria has the most powerful air defence artillery in Africa. That is very wrong, infact they have most weakest air defence of all top military powers in Africa and have never upgraded it ever since. Who ever told this boy that SAM's are still effective air defence at this day and age is very wrong and only heaven knows what a disgrace he fed on this buddy. SAMs were undoubtedly the most effective air defence in the 80s and early 90s and now ever since the introduction of the 4th generations fighters, SAMs missiles are ruled out as the most effective weapon to stop such a latest technology. Fouth generation fighters run even faster than SAM missile on its own.

I understand that @Agaugust is a civilian who gets to be fed wrong information by Nigerian soldiers who know nothing about the latest technology. Most of agaugust analysis are based on civil perspective point of view and there is no doubt that this man is just an imposter pretending to be working for the US defence industries. If indeed he was a researcher he wouldn't have considered SAM as the best air defence missile and for that I bet. Let him go and ask his bosses in America and ask them why did the US dumped the use of SAMs as an effective air defence weapon.
and you confidently typed this rubbish with the hope of feeding it to your fellow ignorant gullible south africans.

If surface to air missiles are not deemed suitable for air defense against modern jets why was israel scared of the russian S-300 SAM? Why do the US, Germany, Netherland still ddepend on the PATRIOT SAM? Why did the US deploy them to Jordan and Turkey against fears of Syrian attacks?

Do you even know what a surface to air missile is?

So this is the kind of soldier SANDF have been training all these years. WOW!! What a shame.

andrewza: What was the criteria for that list, who created that list and what countries did he look at. Any case if you say american SWAT with team. The US have hundreds of difrent poliece forces each with there own tatical unit and level of training. Most are not caled SWAT even.

USA has a larg populstion hence higher murder rate.
guy there are two types of tactical units in US. FBI tactical team and police S.W.A.T.
i don't know about the FBI training but i know all US state police S.W.A.T have the same training.

i can bring another list of top 20 and SA is still missing. their achievements that your comrade posted here shows too many hostage casualties and injuries which only portrays not more than 10-20% success rate. meanwhile NPF SAS and Anti Terror units have better success rates at counter terrorism and hostage rescue without casualties or injuries but we don't make noise about it.

Truth is that your special task force is only known and recognized by south africans.

just like ours is known to us alone.
