it depends on what they are discussing about... if they are childhood friends discussing social issues then how can this be cheating? if they are discussing non romantic issue then how can that be cheating? whether they spend all day on the phone/internet or not, is irrelevant. it can only be viewed as cheating if they are having romantic/sexual discussions.
