Joygift3666: You can post a picture of it. It is not with me so I can't give an accurate diagnosis. But it can be a screen issue. Also, powering on itself without pressing power button.Probably the power button is faulty and it presses itself. |

PrettySmart: There might be some background activities draining the battery. If this is the case, getting a new battery is not a solution. This is just a rough diagnosis... |

Hello, Can anyone help out...my laptop an HP elitebook used to have in-built Bluetooth but ever since I formatted the system to windows 10 the Bluetooth disappeared. I’ve updated all drivers,in fact the Bluetooth especially from device manager but it tells me my driver is updated and running the latest version. I’ve tried using a dongle and it still doesn’t function. What can I do? |

I got a fairly used hp laptop with 2G ram and was upgraded to 3G ram. During use, it gets hot. What do I do to reduce the hotness? |

Lumineers: What I would have told you to do to recover it won't work because the windows OS we use over here is a cracked copy not the original one from microsoft. A possible solution is to give a technician,he will connect your hard drive to another laptop externally for you to copy out your files. He will then format it(in order for the password to be wiped out too).He will then load a windows OS back on it and you will copy your files back on it. This is a method I use but let other experienced engineers comment their possible solutions too. |

robify01: What is the brand and model? The processor is the main thing that gets heated in the laptop. It is the work of the thermal paste to absorb the heat and the cooling fan to blow out the heat. The thermal paste might have dried up OR The cooling fan might be very dusty thereby reducing its rotation speed or it might be faulty as a whole(doesn't mean it won't spin) If you can open a laptop, open it,the thermal paste sits ontop of the processor, directly under the heat zinc.Check if it's dried then you can buy and reapply on it. If not thermal paste, only a person experienced working on laptops can ascertain the condition of the cooling fan(provided it isn't caused by dust). Lastly,do not use the laptop on a bed or soft surface like a cushion chair.Place it on a hard surface like a table and probably your laps.Just to ensure the air vents are not being blocked. |

SonOfAfonja: Return your OS back to its previous OS. Your laptop on windows 10 doesn't support bluetooth. |

Drella: But it was on windows 10 when I got it.... |
Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by Drella(m): 1:30pm On Jan 26, 2021 |
SonOfAfonja: It means the version of windows 10 on it now is different from the previous one. Most likely higher.I'm guessing the current version you have now is a very recent one. Some systems I have worked on doesn't accept the recent windows 10. Why did you reload it in the first instance? |
Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by Drella(m): 1:33pm On Jan 26, 2021 |
02emrys: Try removing the battery and using only charger to power it.Also try using only battery to power it without plugging the charger. Tell me the outcome of both. |

Drella: Thanks for your response, I reloaded it because I had problems installing some softwares on the previous one...Now everything works just fine asides the disappeared Bluetooth. |

Please Is there anyway to reset windows 10 password without formating it. |
Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by Drella(m): 9:51am On Jan 27, 2021 |
SonOfAfonja: Now that's a tricky one. Why not downgrade it to windows 8 to see if both the software and bluetooth will work? |

Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by Drella(m): 9:55am On Jan 27, 2021 |
Digitron: If you mean you forgot your password then I don't think so. Because the windows OS we use in Nigeria is a cracked version. If the OS was originally purchased from Microsoft with a licence/product key, then it is possible. |

02emrys: The motherboard is LIKELY the culprit. It needs the work of an engineer on it.Probably the power IC on the mother board needs to be changed. But when the power button is pressed, does it trip off itself later or it remains like that? Also when the power button is pressed, does the cooling fan spin? |
