Pls my DELL LATITUDE E6400 refuses to boot.

When I try to turn it on, it makes a whirring sound and then trips off with a vibration. It then flashes a padlock icon (there is an "A" in the middle of the icon).

Pls I need tips on how to rectify the issue.

My Asus laptop started this malfunctioning recently

When on sleep mode, it automatically comes in by itself after few seconds
And when it comes on, it start typing a specific symbol (******) into the password box, it stops typing once I press the backspace bottom

In short, it automatically wakes up from sleep, and types by itself

I did a command prompt search, and got this
Don't know how to stop or fix it

Please, my Laptop has refused to connect to my office Wifi. What could be the cause? I've been connected automatically to it before, but since yesterday, its been saying "can't connect to this network". Could it be the driver, or what?

If that's the case go to the laptop network settings and remove the WiFi then reconnect again.

This 6930p is two type, one with ATi chip(graphic) and one without ATi chip.

So possible cause could be

1. Bad Ram
2. ATI chip is bad
3. Bios is corrupt
4. It might be a dim display so check with torch light to see if you will notice any display on the screen

My elite book seem to act same way just that my comes up sometimes n work perfectly for some hours but if I restart it, it the screen goes off while the system is still on. And sometimes the display is not brownish

the system does not detect an operating system. it might be caused by
1. incorrect settings in the bios boot device options
2. corrupted operating system
3. Your hard disk drive has been disconnected
4. No hard disk present
5. damaged hard disk.

I removed the battery, I plug it directly to AC & powered it, it still turns on & turns off immediately - same thing.

sounds like these aluminium mettalic elitebooks like 6930p. this is a commonly problem associated with these elitebooks. a general system board failure.

the pavillion g6 is the better option here interms of its processor and chipsets. the macbook is old and outdated. core 2 duo is slower for 2021
