My honest take. This team is full of shit!
I am grateful that on a normal day, Shehu, collins and Etebo won't be starting. Simon can't dribble to save his life! Iwobi should only be at the center and not wing! Ekong is not a ball playing defender and should not be paired with Awaziem in front of the keeper. Onachu is not first team worthy! 4-4-2 is useless if Ihenancho who the formation suppose to favour is playing nonsense!

Cameroon scored with their only shot on target. Three shots with only one on target and it was a goal.

Our lads had 6 shots on target!!! 6!!!! 13 shots overall (two of which were big chances ballooned skywards in each half) and we could not bag one.

Anyway, we wait for the second leg on Tuesday.

Congrats to Terem Moffi, Valentine Ozornwafor and Marcus Abraham who made their Senior debuts today.

For me, despite the loss, I will still take a lot of positives from this game. We were the better team.

All this accommodation something Rohr is doing. It has failed. No more squatting of Iheanacho. Play him as the striker or bring him in as a tactical sub later in the game. We no get the kind midfield to help 442

Bro ekong played well today

The problem with that goal.... is not the defenders but the DM&CM ndidi and etebo caused it and the keeper sha he was not bright today

Musa was not the problem tonight.

He was..he slowed down the pressing upfront him and moffj onauchu and nancho would have done better

He was invisible all through.....even Yinka had a better game

You know how important we need it preceding the world cup

I agree!

I don't think Onuachu and Iheanacho make a good partnership. Osimhen is the right man to partner any of them in a 4-4-2 due to his pace.
But again, 4-4-2 isn't our thing. We are just trying it now to accomodate the many in form strikers in the team...

In my opinion, this still remain our best line up..

Uzoho
Ebuehi/Aina Ekong Balogun Sanusi
Ndidi Aribo Iwobi
Chukwueze Osimhen Onyekuru/Simon

We clearly were the better side. And that is what makes it annoying. We didn't translate our better plays and chances to goals.
13 shots vs 3 shots (6 on target vs 1 on target and 2 big chances missed).

I mean, we would be talking a win had Onuachu and Simon buried their Big Chances.
But the team created lots of chances and that is a positive in itself.
I was also impressed with Awaziem on the left side of central defence. Hardly put a foot wrong.

But Dad ehn, I wanna ask, why do we always lose whenever we pair Ekong and Awaziem at CB? This is their third loss together as a CB pair in their third game as a CB pair.

Nevertheless shaaa, I feel they did much better this time. Had our forwards converted their chances, we won't be talking a loss.

The team had many good interplays in the second half most especially overlapping with when Iwobi also moved more centrally but the Cameroonian defence stood strong and we didn't apply the finishing touch of lethality.

I hope they are better on Tuesday. And by better, I mean scoring goals.

The problem with the 4-4-2 is that it makes our midfield lean.. And Iwobi has to be moved to the wings...

Rohr should've allowed Onuachu a bit longer on that pitch. There might have been a goal. That no 10 na wahala oh. Iheanacho should rest for Iwobi to move in there next game.

The Cameroon goalie was the difference in that second half.. We had like 6 shots on target...that means we tried! A good goalie can win games for his team, you know...

I believe there's a second leg on Tuesday.. It was arranged as a two legged encounter

Am not to confident with this Madueke Okoye being our number 1 keeper I don't think is better than Francis Uzoho. We need a quality creative midfielder. Alex Iwobi can't play that role in this current super eagles set up.

Haba! When was Musa Introduced?

We had the better of the chances earlier in the game that we could have converted.

Simon had the biggest chance to draw the game level but he instead went for power rather than placement.

I disagree with you bro on your team list. With Iwobi on the wings Zaidu will be badly exposed. In our match against Lesotho, Zaidu's position was wide open because Iwobi kept drifting centrally leaving so much gap on the wings thus limiting the runs of Zaidu. A good team should have exploited that. We're better off with him playing in front of the DM & CM.

I was really impressed wit onauchu workrate used to play like a striker who got a briefcase on him as if he has nothing to loose

On losing whenever Ekong pairs up with Awaziem , I see that as more of a coincidence. Even if Ekong had paired up with Balogun tonight, Anguisa could still have scored that goal.
