Any Nigerian will easily understand Osimhen's post. Any naija celeb will post like that and will get a million engagements. But his European fans can't even understand him, sincerely.

It doesn't have to be bad. Its what's at stake here that should be considered. He needs to carry them along and probably cut less on the street boi levels. He's more than a naija star. He's a world star already. Adjustment is required.

We his Nigerian fans will always understand this.

Just the way messi and other top players who doesn’t type in English are carrying their Nigerian fan’s along because we clearly understand Portuguese ,Spanish and French

Go and tell Daniel alves and Neymar to cut their Brazil street boy levels ,I guess osimhen is more of a world start than these 2 ?

You guys should allow osimhen to catch cruise abeg ,una too Dey take things serious

We should be happy we have someone carrying our indigenous language and culture to the world.

Instead, we keep bashing the guy because he refuses to conform to the traditions of foreigners.

Funny thing is, if Messi or Aguero post in Spanish or Ronaldo in Portuguese we will all be impressed at how they are repping where they are from (some people will even go as far as learning spanish to reply or using google translate), but when our own decides to post in pidgin which is our own language we keep bashing him everyday. Colonial mentality.

Well said ,thank you for this .

Should I even call it low self esteem from Nigerians ? I think you used the right words (colonial mentality) but I would have preferred colonial stupidity .

Welcome to Nigeria where using your local language to communicate with the world is a crime ,but the world is free to communicate with their own language while Nigerians use translator to understand grin

When Obafemi Martins joined Levante ,during his first interview or so he was communicating in Italian language and there was a translator in Spanish .

My appraisal of them is not from their Whoscored ratings.
I don't even know their rating on Whoscored.
But i beg you not to look down on Whoscored, those guys are very good.

The quality of the league they feature in, doesn't make them below par.
You will need more than talent to feature at the biggest stage.

Mr Komekn, I will pick Awaziem and Omeruo ahead of some EPL defenders.
Most EPL clubs don't have good defenders.

You are being led by emotive sentiment.

Quality doesn't hide it moves upwards not downwards, like CREAM it rises to the top.

Omeruah played for Middlesbrough but was far from outstanding, and nobody wanted his services in the Championship and you really think , he can play in EPL. He played in the La Liga once again he was just making up the numbers in a mediocre team. He gets relegated and nobody wanted him in La Liga. WHY You cannot dress up chicken and call it goat meat.

His compatriot is the same Awaziem and that's why he is in the backwaters league of Turkish football, and nobody wanted him in the Portuguese first not even Boavista to who had an option to buy him.

You cannot dress up these self evident facts, you cannot hide the obvious. These two defender are bang average or below and are on the decline, at very young ages. ( Maybe football age has caught up with them)

I don't look down on " Whoscored" they do an absolutely fantastic job. But these statistics have to be seen in context, they are indicative not conclusive.

According to you most EPL clubs don't have good defenders. Why then are there more EPL clubs in the last 16 of the Champions League than any other league ❓❓Why is the EPL the best league in the World.

You are being overly optimistic and sentiment led and not being sensible and realistic.

Do you know you cannot , use our own Nigerian languages to communicate in Nigeria and you are asking him to use a Nigerian language in Europe. Please wake up.

Your Kwale language as well as my own Uhrobo/ Isoko language will probably be extinct in 50 year's. Why because you cannot use those languages to communicate to generality of people you meet in Nigeria.

You will have much more Success with Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa and Fulani.

I go to Warri and I meet my cousin's and younger family members they cannot speak our language , all they speak is Warri pidgin.

Spanish in is spoken over several continents, l learned my first level of Spanish from staying in Miami , Florida. This is an international language widely spoken.

What you are saying doesn't make any sense , you are in Italy should you not learn Italian so you can communicate and therefore relate and integrate.

You fall my hand , bros , you no make sense.

My friend common sense is not common

When I said our own Nigeria language ,I guess it must be kwale urhobo isoko that’s not popular like Yoruba igbo or pidgin English ?

You are not even making single sense ,just watch what you said ,we cannot use our own Nigeria language to communicate in Nigeria ,same Nigeria people communicate with Yoruba igbo Hausa everyday of their life ?

Maybe isoko and urhobo can go on extinct but not kwale ,you have no idea that kwale share more than 50 percent of words with the igbo language ?

Can you use your English language in countries like denmark,Sweden ,Norway ? Almost everybody there go see you like dundy,I won’t even talk about the Arab countries self

Abeg if I fall your hand make you carry am up grin

Epl is the best league in the world right now ,but all those times you have been ranting epl was not the best league then ,just a quick reminder .

Mancity chelsea Liverpool have been superb in the champions league and they are among favorites to win it ,kudos to all of them

Many epl teams have bad defenders apart from the big boys ,and I don’t think omeruo is really better than the epl bad defenders

You are saying a language is going extinct, while encouraging the language to go extinct.

How many people do you think understand South African Zulu? What about Jamaican Patois? Do you think popular Jamaicans should stop speaking it because the rest of the world may not understand it?

Do you know that speaking a language makes people pick interest in it? Do you know how many South Africans, Kenyans and other African nations speak and understand the Nigerian pidgin to a small extent just from watching Nigerian movies or Big Brother?

Let me even come down to football level, do you see how excited people get when Ndidi, Kelechi and Amartey speak pidgin? So much so it even rubs off on their colleagues?

Do you not understand how football is a vessel through which languages can and have been exported?

So, everybody else should promote their own language, but our own players must abandon the Nigerian language just so they can get approval from their white masters in European leagues?

Do you know how much this reasoning sounds like inferiority complex?

Na you dey fall hand o

Exactly, I'm not from the major ethnicities in Nigeria, but because of Nigerian movies and entertainment content, all my Kenyan, South African and Zimbabwean friends wants me to teach them Igbo and Yoruba, i always tell them I don't understand those languages too. Lol. They even refer to me as "oga" and chat in a Nigerian pattern anytime I'm around them. That shows the influence we command in the Nigerian continent. We need to take pride in our indigenous languages.
