Well, I don't know... He did tell me shaa pages back on this thread that he is growing tired of nairaland because of the many bans on his many weird monikers. He said this thread and **whispers** Safari woman were the only motivation for his coming to NL... Especially the latter wink

So I guess maybe he had really taken a hike for now.... Wherever he is... I trust he is alright.

A Midfield of this guy as a Lampard-esque #10, Nwakali as the central Midfield orchestrator and Ndidi doing his thing as an Elite ball winner with Ejuke on the left and Chukwueze on the right all as "the supporting cast" behind the Number 9 carries great tactical potentials especially in our offensive plays.
The Sweetness of the football we love in GWG could return... Oh mama Mia...Make it happen...

I don't believe in this.
Though, players from Brazil get easy attention but.... they keep working hard. It doesn't matter your nationality, if you don't work hard, nobody will ask for your signature. You will definitely go back to your comfort zone.

Gabigol comes to mind.
When you guys say a footballer should work hard, what do you mean? That talk dey always sound one kind to me. Like he should go for training? But they all go for training na. Or he should go in for personal trainings working on certain aspects of his game outside the routine training schedule of the club?

Looolll.... I just smiled when you dropped his name and that of the "average crooner" Afobear. It was fun with that guy. Congo4ka was among his many monikers. Hilarious Memories. grin

Meanwhile, Gustav25 (hope I am right) is another. He should be Afobear's twin brother in torment. grin
These two are chief tormentors of the SE in here when they find their mood.
They are like external trolls who come and go. But we have our own in-house SE Performance dissector and pessimism bearer to keep us grounded... None other than The DARKELF HIMSELF. For 3 years running or so, He has been on top of this throne of torment under the blueelf and darkelf monikers. A guy that is more consistent than Garba lawal was in his time. grin

P.S: Happy New Year Sir Mujtahida, Oh Learned one. Great to see thee again.

I think you are caught up with a nostalgic quest for entertainment football characterised by dribbling, show boating and skill but with limited end product.

Football has left that era behind even at AFCON and the days of gung ho, trying to dribble the whole team has Died.

When a player's is skilful, technically astute, fast, physically resilient and strong all crowned with END PRODUCT even in an obscure league. He will not be unnoticed.

Our best in form Striker is Dennis and he is not at the party, so also is Osimhen. If Ighalo plays we have hope.

Ejuke is not the outstanding player in his league but he will go to the AFCON and set it on fire. I don't agree with your optimism.
This is what I don't understand. Limited end product? How? Is football today more productive than it was in the past? Productive in terms of what? Goals? Speed? Or what?

Ol' boy ballers full this SE current squad.

Imagine:
Nwakali
Awoniyi
Ejuke
Chukwueze
Awaziem
Ndah
Ebuehi
Onyekuru
Sadiq

The above are the players who can confidently move the ball with ease.

Pretenders:

Iheanacho
Iwobi
Simon Moses
Aribo

Players without ball retention abilities

Ekong
Ndidi
Semi
