Odunayaw:Odun,no be d tin we dey talk during afcon when some believed Awoniyi and Sadiq are not up to standard....against Ghana with Osimehn, our eyes come cleared say midfield be issue. I can tell anybody who care to listen that CR7 will failed in GWG with the performance of our midfieders. As you rightly said we need a coach that will really work on our midfield...imagine having Osimehn,Onuachu,Awoniyi,Sadiq,Dessers,Moffi and old warhorse Ighalo and team keep on struggling. 1 Like 1 Share |

drDoom3: He shouldn't think premier league for now if he is gonna struggle to get 15 needing 2 more goals with seven games remaining. If he does 15 he should still sit down in the German league for another season to prove and solidify his confidence and his doubters like me that he is a true potential worthy of outdoing any striker be with the super eagles or any level. That's the mindset he should have and the mindset of players we need in the super eagles. 1 Like |

Kog45: Let's look at awoniyi's career rise through this lens and understand what I'm saying sir. At the under 17 he was behind Isaac success during the World Cup. Success is injured and Awo rises up to the occasion where he enjoyed success at the under 17 , he is the front man under manu garba at the under 21 level winning the super six with flying eagles against the top 5 or 6 NPL teams, winning the under 21 AFCON beating Senegal on home soil in the final. Awo's rise at the youth championships did not situate him in the ranks of kelechi iheanacho or Isaac success who had earlier secured a move worth 3 million euros to udiness pre under 17 World Cup. His move to Liverpool who loaned him out on his journey to Germany-Belgium-Germany was viewed by many to have been decent considering his fringe players status. I dare say he is the most successful of all players between the 2013 and 2015 player who was loaned out from his parent club and later found a stable path to rise. The Nwakali brothers had their parent club at Manchester City and Arsenal. But where are they today. The other starlet at Porto think yayha , chidera, etc where are they today? They've all hit a rock on their careers. Isaac success escapades and weight issues have brought him back to udiness. Of all these guys only three of them have maintained a name due to sheer talent, luck and hard work. They are iheanancho osimhen and ndidi. Awo is enjoying a rise, but he has been injured and has found it difficult settling down early on but this is quite different from osimhen' s whose career rather hit rock bottom with series of injuries. Awo should look Sebastian haller who is a striker built like him. Haller did tear down the german league. But struggled at west ham. Dennis style and play is not the same with Awo. You can be a flop in a lesser league and come good at a revered league . I worry so much about Awo having to struggle in the EPL 1 Like |
