Japan.... an Enigma team.

Beats Germany.

Loses to the weakest team in the group.

Returns for the last game and beats Spain.

Habamana! The Conundrum game. Lol

You see that Japan team ehn, you just cannot predict them at all. cheesy
They remind of Super Eagles that lost 3-0 to the defunct Yugoslavia, and 5-1 to the Netherlands in pre 1998 WC friendlies, only to win a WC group containing a super talented Spanish team grin

I really fancy Morocco against Spain. They are kukuma neigbors anyway. The last two games have shown that Spain are not invincible and Morocco so far have been excellent. They defend very well, Ziyech on his day is a fantastic player and Hakimi is always there for freekicks.

I think Croatia would have been a tougher game for Spain cos Croatia's midfield trio would have bullied the likes of Busquets and Pedri.

Senegal has the best chance of advancing to the quarter finals.
Yes, Morocco have been excellent at this WC, but Spain may just be a bridge too far. Ghana has virtually no hope against the Samba rhythm, and I don't see Cameroon advancing to the knockout round.

Good observation.
He has seen some games as a midfielder, but has featured in more as a striker.

I don't think you know the player we are talking about, you might identify him facially, but you don't know him.
How come he is not played in that role, but played either in the left or right midfield, (there are good reasons for this).

What are some of the qualities you have noticed about Kudus that make him a number 10 in your reckoning.

Rodri completed more passes (204) than the entire Japanese team (153) today.

Spain as a whole completed 968 passes. Bossed possession 82% vs Japan's 18% but Japan had the better xG and took home the 3 pts.

Football.

Next up for Spain is My Fearless Atlas Lions of Morocco.

oga kudus been deployed as a false 9 at ajax doesnt imply that he isnt an AM

even his first season at ajax he was played from the flanks. stop capping

Japan: The True WC Nightmare of the Pass Master teams

Courtesy: OptaJoe

2 - Since detailed World Cup records began (1966), there are only two instances of a team losing a game despite attempting 700+ passes:

Spain vs Japan tonight
Germany vs Japan last week

The two times it happened came against JAPAN. Wahala for pass master teams.

Japan depicts a team that makes the most of the little they see of the ball. Interesting.

Croatia is next for Japan.

If Japan have a lead it will be hard for them to give it up late because they will always remember the pain of 2018 v Belgium and fight like their lives depend on it.

What have you observed of his skills and decision making that made you believe that he is an AM or that gives a hint of it. I can learn from you.

Or do you just want me to believe that he is an AM by prayer and prophecy. I can be your prayer partner.

Lukaku was paid to throw that game. Most times when people underperform, it seems genuine and organic. Lukaku looked like he tried too hard to pull of those misses. You can't convince me otherwise.

Walahi it wasn't funny. But on a serious note, he wasn't just sharp enough after the long injury layoff. I just hope some Belgians won't insult his African heritage. Martinez should have been fired a long time ago.
