1. Divorce laws even in the US aren't the same. What obtains in Texas may not necessarily apply in California. It only makes sense that laws in Europe (though pro-women for the most part) is different.

2. The wife definitely has a stake in whatever property was bought "during the marriage". But again, how the law applies, either in equal or equitable sharing of assets is dependent on what obtains where they live.

3. If the arrangement of Hakimi mother's having her name on all his properties and receiving his money started before he got married (which seems plausible as he was 19 at the time), she most likely has no stake at all. What she'll be entitled to is alimony and child support which I do not think the young man will contest.

If he was buying the properties from his salary, while they're married, it doesn't matter whose name it's under. Income earned during marriage is regarded as jointly earned unless both couples agreed to separate it. Properties bought during marriage applies the same.

The only why his property won't be divided is if they had a mutual agreement and separated their earnings, either in writing with their lawyer or by standing on their word and not asking the courts for a division in the first place.
