Both goals as a result of defensive errors.

First time I'm watching them and I'm utterly disappointed. Can't tell where the strength of the team lies.

Well, the better team won.

How has the VAR ignored that hand ball in the BFA box?

Well, would we even have scored?

We just missed another beautiful chance after a fine drive from the left wing. Frustrating Lads.

#MDU17AfconDiaries

Not a handball as long as the ball came off the body of the Burkinabe player.

This is the worst u17 team assembled by Nigeria
You’re wrong, they’re actually one of the best we’ve had since we last won the WC. They’re just not clinical and composed, they tend to be under pressure when they conceeds thereby losing concentration and conceding more. If they continue like till U20, they’ll turn out to be one of the best U20 set we can boast. They play fantastic football that even Super Eagle can’t boast of.

No one will talk about the ease with which Linus picks out his teammates. He found Favour Daniel with an intelligent long switch ball on the right in the box, which Favour squandered.

The boy is just the only bright spark in this bang average Nigerian midfield.

The team crashes out but a few talented pearls did well for themselves.

You've tried bruh.

Let's just close the diary tonight.

That's a different scenario. He was unchallenged and had all the time in the world to control that ball. That was a legit handball.

Cletus is a good player. It is nice to win youth tournaments but what is more important is finding rough gems.

As a team, in the final third they were rubbish. This is why it was pointless rushing play to get to the final third at the expense of making uncharacteristic mistakes. The coach did not change that hoofball tactics until it was too late and so the buck rests firmly with Nduka Ugbade.

Let's get back to the drawing board again grin

How are we even sure we would qualify in 2 years time with the rigid zonal CAF qualifiers?
But Nduka no try. He should have made a strong statement with this team. No thanks to MRI which deprived us of a quality midfield and attack

So it is now this Ugbade man thinks of putting in Simon Cletus??

Simon Cletus and Olowoporoku are two midfielders who should have been getting minutes since the tournament began.

#MDU17AfconDiaries

I am surprised that Cletus was on the bench till 80mins. The boy just changed the attack with his calmness and through pass.

I felt hurt watching Simon Cletus play. No way such talent should seat on the bench. I had hopes for Ugbade, real high hopes but he has nothing to offer.

Cletus is miles better than those 2 fido dido wey nduka dey play ahead of the kid

The few minutes he played he impressed me with he’s agility and direct passes

Look at how Senegal and Mali play football, and you wonder what went wrong with Nigerian football? Mali and Senegal combined don't even have the population of Lagos alone, yet they consistently produce very intelligent and sublime footballers...honestly Nigerian football makes me want to vomit, APC have seriously destroyed our football and Sunday Dare (our worst sports minister ever) needs to answer questions.

I don't expect the U20 team to do anu better, no U23 Olympic football as well...the SW and the North have finished this country with mediocrity.

We've won the U17 World Cup about 5 times but this is the first time that we decided to field a team that has over 90% of its players being TRULY U17 and what happened next? We failed to qualify for the World Cup.

I don't know about y'all but to me, this speaks volumes about the credibility of our trophy collection.

Before this Afcon began, I analysed the team and made special mention of Simon Cletus and Ifeoluwa Olowoporoku. I didn't even know much about Hope Linus. Linus just walked his way into my tactical/technical attention radar with his midfield displays.

These 3, Linus, Cletus and Olowoporoku were our best 3 midfielders Ugbade brought to Algeria but he only had the mind to play one all through the tournament hence no real synergy in the middle.
