Meliforme:
We have the pool of players capable of winning any match with any country in the world.
What we seem to lack are the brains required to design good wins.
While i will admit some positives about Peseiro, he seems to lack the cutting edge.
Even though we appear more tactically drilled under Peseiro, but he is yet to truly impress me in a way that can inspire real hope.

Going into AFCON 2023, our chances of qualifying from the group stage is 50:50. I am a confirmed optimist, but to achieve good results we have to face facts. We may stand a better chance in the offing, but as things stands Jose Peseiro has not really shown that he has what it takes to lead us to glory with the quality of talents available to him.

I will speak further on this after the friendly matches with S. Arabia and Mozambique.
We have 95-99% chance of making it out of this group stage,
But winning it is what I'm not sure of because of the quality of goalkeepers we have and our coach.

I would agree if u have said we have 50:50 chance winning the trophy not qualifying from AFCON group stage.
If we can be pessimistic about qualifying from this group, then we r not ready to compete at all.

Finally, statistics showed that we have failed to make it out of the group stage just once.

Victor Boniface and Guinea's Serhou Guirassy make Whoscored's Bundesliga Team of the Season 23/24 so far.

Guirassy is Bundesliga's current top scorer with 13 goals and he will lead Guinea's charge alongside Naby Keita in Group of Death, Group C at the Afcon.

The resemblance is striking indeed, even in their GK style as both love to ball play as well. But I thank the football gods that Adeleye is parallel to Onana when it comes to a GK's primary job - SHOT STOPPING.

Our GK dept is scaring me. Do our goalies even play weekly?

I don't know why Jpes persists with 442 but he better utilise the attacking wingers in a manner where one of them operates as a half space inside #8 while the other provides us attacking width.

On the half space 8's side, the fullback must be willing to overlap while the Fullback on the other side should sit as part of the rest defence and not push too high.

Iwobi pairing Ndidi is one thing but here Ndidi must sit and not venture forward too much like he does for Leicester. His job is simple. Win balls, tackle, screen the defence and feed Iwobi and the channels with short and long passes respectively.

Iwobi shouldn't be isolated when transiting things from the 2nd phase of play to the 3rd phase of play. We need to have Boniface and the corresponding winger/Half space operator (depending on whuch side Iwobi transits from) playing close to Iwobi to provide him passing options and angles of penetration for lines breaking passes.

In all, this better not be a mechanical 442 performance. I have fingers crossed.

I still prefer Aniagboso of the u20 or any good capable hands in the league... our european gks are collections of below average keepers.

Bankole
Sochima
Obasogie
They should stop reinforcing laziness by inviting Okoye and Uzoho, the should work their aarrssee off and get back to playing football. The super Eagles is not an asylum camp.

This is one of d reasons I don't fancy our chances in d upcoming afcon, dis insistence on playing 442 even against quality oppositions

I don't understand the obession of playing Bassey at CB when you have other CBs on the bench. The only way Bassey fits in the CB is if the RB inverts or overlap with Bassey coming inside to form a back 3 with the man CBs.
