OGN says Aribo will be starting as an SS/ false 9 today.

Should be very interesting to watch and settle the question of Aribo's ideal position once and for all.

Peseiro should also scout this goalkeeper Jonathan Ayola Rasheed
At 31 still in Swedish league not good enough

Sweden should be better than Cyprus of all places. That said, Snerd has already stated that the guy isn't good enough, he probably has watched him. I have seen some clips of Amas Obasogie and I think he has a lot of potentials. I don't know what happened to Siasia's goalie at the Brazil Olympics, he was quite good then.

By now we should know , JP is a 4-4-2 apostle, he doesn't care what we think. The earlier we know thise, the earlier we know peace.
Besides the formation, I like it that almost all the players invited have been giving a chance to prove themselves, it's up to the Jordans, Fisayos, Moffi, Onyedika and even Aribo to prove themselves. Although I hope Fisayo isn't been set up to fail as it seems he's been deployed as a winger according to OGN. That said, the starting players could easily transition to a 4-3-3 or even a 3-5-2 whatever JP wants. Also, even though Fisayo is to deployed on the wings (assuming OGN is correct), I hope he learnt enough from KDB, Foden and Benardo from his time at Man City to be able to function effectively as a midfielder or winger.
That's not a 442! That's a 433. 5 midfielders with Aribo as an inside winger, same way he uses Iheanacho. Onyeka, Onyedika, and Fisayo playing the pivot roles.

According to OGN, they specifically stated that it's a 4-4-2. And I agree with you, it looks like a 4-3-3, but I have to give the reporters who brought out the names the benefit of doubt.

Modified
Completesports are also reporting that its a 4-4-2 despite the fact that 4 midfielders are starting.

I have been long in this game to know that yes, good performance at friendlies are good but they cannot determine your performance in a tournament like the AFCON. It has played out over and over and over again.

Our team is gifted no doubt, what we need is for them to bring their 'A' game into the tournament.
My major worry, which has been a major problem since the loss of Carl Ikeme is the goalie department.
The World cup performance made people overate the Morrocans. Even South Africa outplayed them. The Ivorians are good and playing Infront of their fans is an added moral. I see us holding them to a draw cos they have been as profligate as us! I don't see us defeating them. This is coming from an ardent SE supporter.

Most of those journalists are quacks. It's 433 even to the blind eyes. Are they saying Fisayo will play at RW, Onyeka as 10 and Aribo as SS? 😂

Learn from Oracle. Nobody knows this analysis better than I do on here. My humble opinion. That's why I can predict correct score accurately.

Yes that's what both OGN and Completesports stated. When the game starts, we shall confirm who the real quacks are grin. Not sure where Charlee picked up the formation from, big chance he's right but when game starts it shall be confirmed.

A very interesting line up. I want to see how Aribo will function as an inverted winger. I know the midfield will be strong but how about creativity. Neither Onyeka no Onyedika are creative player. With Bashiru playing high up who will play the pivotal role.

I am very happy Iwobi is not in the lineup. Secondly, I am also glad the quack number 10 has been moved to the side because I believe the coach has realized he is useless there. Iwobi and Aribo shouldn't be anywhere near our midfield....I will play defensive midfielders like Ndidi, Onyeka and Onyedika in their place.

I honestly think Omerua's time in the SE is coming to an end but we need his experience to groom the younger players though I am not sold on Ajayi.

Osayi and Onyemaechi are gems.

Ononenyi!

Modified: I took a second look at the like up and it's clear Bashiru will play the creative role. Nice set up. I have absolute confidence in this midfield but let's see how Bashiru rises to this test

Peseiro is trying to pass a message by starting Uzoho. (This is petty but I believe it will make us anti fragile) I hope Uzoho flops again and makes Peseiro look clueless cos this is a common sense thing not a matter of sentiments.

JP is trying not to kill the confidence of Uzoho. I remember Keshi doing that once with Agbim at the only CHAN he coached, in the first game, Agbim was horrible!!!! Keshi stuck with him and surprisingly Agbim ended up pulling fantastic saves in that tournament, we eventually came 2nd. He's just trying to tell Uzoho he believes in him. Up to Uzoho to repay the faith.

Why would a serious coach put hope on a match rusty Uzoho, Why??

Paserio 4-4-2 has seen the Super Eagles created several chances in most of their games. Even the friendlies that we lost we created several chances. Against Mexico and Equador, Desser was missing sitter upon sitter.

With Boniface playing the Amokachi role, Iwobi- Okocha's and Wilf- Oliseh. Then with Onyeka, Onyedika, Fisayo and even Iheanacho the midfield is good.
However, I do think there is a player that can play that Iwobi role better (build attack from defence with precise short and long balls). He is Nwakali. This system will suite him the most.

For Paserio 4-4-2 to work, he must never play two out and out 9 together e.g Sadiq, Osimhen, Awoniyi, Onuachu and Moffi cos that will leave the midfield thin.

A Boniface/Iheanacho/Iwobi/Fisayo/even Aribo are the players that must play the 2nd striker role (Ball carriers, technical and good passers).

Our midfield and attacking play in the first half against Saudi was a beauty to watch!

Tella must be brought in to challenge Chukwueze for that RW. Tella might not be a great dribbler but he is an efficient scorer. Tella and Aina/Osayi combination will be a beauty to watch!!
We simply do not have the personnel to properly play that kind of 442 the Eagles played in the past,
Only Ndidi can stand in place of Oliseh in midfield,Chukwueze and Lookman can't do what Finidi and Amuneke use to do, can't even mention Iwobi in Okocha's place ,these players are not similar.

There is a reason why Keshi even though played under Westerhoff's 442 formation, yet he opt for 433 to conquer Africa.
JP should do the same like Keshi.

This 442 with this current players cannot survive d kind of strong oppositions we will be up against from q/finals to finals.

Jp should adapt to more modern formation that our wingers are more suited for.

Look at your thought process....you hope "Uzoho flops"...Oga , whether you like it or not, Uzoho is your most experienced goalkeeper and number one. He will not be sitting on the bench anytime soon. His mistakes are part of growth.
