Yall see why we shouldn't be too confident with game management...

Moral of the story play your game

An ultra defensive setup has it draw backs.

DissTroy:

And this overconfidence from fans and players alike might be our undoing.

DissTroy:

Fans are completely fixated on the fun of trolling Ghana and South Africa all year long that we are looking past the actual game.

For us Twitter banter supersedes the possibilities of the 90 minutes on the pitch.

DissTroy:

Same Bible you pontificate with says faith without works is dead. To compliment the faith, do the work on the pitch tomorrow.

And the first thing is not looking past the match to make post-match celebratory declarations.

Cape Verde wasn't supposed to lose to SA based off pre-game analyses. A section of their media were already talking up plans to match up with us.

Still think I am a pessimist?

A pragmatic realist more like. smiley

Abeg, win or lose, I'm happy with this team. They've done beyond the expectations of most Nigerians.
Not quite the attitude we want.

Onyeka is the true definition of all-action midfielder.
He's the only one in that midfield. Forget Iwobi. They kept having distant shots in through him which eventually led to the corner they used to equalize.

Pack your team with poor passers of the ball and what do you get.

You are a Pessimist. Cos I don't see how fans having faith they'd win a match translates to affecting the way the players have played.

Did they play with over confidence as you continuously keep pushing?

Coach should have substituted Iwobi.
Alhassan should have been brought on earlier.

I think I understand this coach mindset
For previous matches we were the favourite so we naturally had the possession. In this game the ivory coast came to play and it just looked like he willingly said let's defend.

Like do you intend to defend for the whole game.

Onyeka didn't make us miss Ndidi. He was a fantastic cover.

It is Iwobi's role that was sorely missed. A player who could play that role is the one missing.

A stupid and sturbon coach, I know he will cost us this match.
What exactly is Iwobi doing on the pitch.
This is a 100% marking match and we have a natural defensive midfielder on the bench
I said this a few days ago
