Thanks to the moniker that shared the new released Austino Milado's SE song.

I did enjoy it. But was shocked to hear that chief Ladipo is still the supporters' club chairman. Abeg how many years the man wan take be chairman? is it a life-long position or what?

Is it not Nigeria?

There are two factions now. Both claiming legitimacy.

that ancient man has been the chairman since I was in primary school. Is no one else competent enough to fill that position?

These people don't know that the longer they stay in a position, the lesser the good will toward them.

Paolo Gozzi Iweru, 17 year old Nigerian playing for Italy under 17.

I fear that if he continues with Italy he will get the Balotelli treatment

The World Cup is few days away. Till this moment, nothing has been heard from the supporter's club corner. I just hope we will not end up blowing vuvuzelas.
I think I read somewhere that drums won't be allowed inside the stadium

Hahaha! Do you think it is easy to keep tabs on these players in the pipeline? grin

Before you can vouch for a player you must follow for at least two seasons or more to be sure of what you're vouching for.

Now, that takes a lot.

100% correct

I am currently in Germany and I have been to a few age grade tournaments so many young teenagers of Nigerian origin across Europe.

Which one will rise to the occasion in the next few years is almost impossible to predict.

I have met the head of recruitment for an EPL club here as well. That tells you how seriously it is taken. Trying to find th next new talent.

hahaha... Ancient man indeed.

The longer they stay in position, the less effective they become because most times they can't catch up with change.

The last time I really had the feel of our supporters club was during Ghana 2008.

If I'm right, it seems the guy didn't play for any english age grade team.

But the question is, who will invite him?

how were you able to gather information on these players considering the fact that there's no internet then, or did you know them personally?

I knew Obafemi Akinwunmi Martins and Ifeanyi Ideze personally. I got Akin Martins's (we knew him as Akin) progress from his elder brother Ladi Martins. Ifeanyi Udeze finished from a secondary school about 15-20 minutes bus drive from our neighborhood. He used to play at Air Force base close to Mile2 in Lagos. They both finished secondary school in 1997. Ify was born in 1980. Meaning he finished secondary school at 17.(age cheating check). He played for our 1997 U17 at the first ever meridian cup. Which we won by beating Spain 3-2 and he was a standout performer.

I used to see Udeze some times when he came around from Europe to play with his old pals. He was in Kavala of Greece. So I had one on one discussions with him. I made him know I was writting for Complete Football so he gave me all the attention.

Other players I got bit by bit info about them from more established media houses and put up write ups on them more on they being prospects for the national team and how they can solve certain problems in certain positions.

It was not easy then but the passion kept me going.

Iniesta worth the accolades given to him , he has played under 9 different managers with 9 Laliga trophies , over 600 caps ... who else deserves to be celebrated ?

Late 90s yes. But mid 90s, not likely.AIT, the first private TV station was opened late 1995.

However, in 1993, MultiChoice as a subsidiary company was created. As a business arm of M-Net, MultiChoice from outset was then saddled with the responsibilities such as decoder sales, subscriber services and account management.

It was also in that same year that its business operation began in Nigeria. When Multichoice Nigeria Limited took off in 1993, it was registered under the company registration laws of Nigeria, and was established as a joint venture between Adewunmi Ogunsanya (A Nigerian patriot, attorney at law and businessman) and MultiChoice Africa, a subsidiary of the Naspers Group.

Its operations began in Nigeria in April 1994 and today it operates from its Head Office in Lagos and 11 Regional offices in Surulere, Ikeja, Enugu, Jos, Kaduna, Kano, Abuja, Ibadan, Maiduguri and Port Harcourt.

And I've explained to you that then there was nothing to understand other than who win, who score. Finish. One can only know things based on the knowledge prevailing at a time. And I think you misread asha80. Playing football on the pitch was default mode for most boys. Nothing unique about that. What he meant was precisely the staying glued to watch a match.
