Nigeria international Semi Ajayi is not interested in departing EFL Championship outfit Rotherham United in the January transfer window and has stressed that his priority to help the club avoid relegation.

With eighteen months left on his current contract with The Millers, talks on a new deal have not started, fueling speculation that he could leave the club this month.

''I definitely see Rotherham as my long-term home,'' said Ajayi to Rotherham Advertiser.

''This is the club that gave me my opportunity in the Championship two years ago. They showed even more faith in me by offering me a permanent deal after my loan spell from Cardiff City.

''We got promotion from League One and now I'm playing again in the Championship which has led to an international call-up. I owe a lot to Rotherham and I'm happy to be here.''

The former Arsenal U23 skipper has drawn praise for his performances for Rotherham United as well as the Super Eagles this season.

Ajayi could be heading to Egypt in the summer as part of the Super Eagles squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Omeruo is gradually racking up games which is vital for his form.
Happy for him and I wish him an injury free season with Leganes

I'm happy Pinnick is giving them this kind of quality preparation. So when they eventually go to the WC and disgrace themselves, we'll all know who to blame.

Nobody is looking for him, no better club is looking to sign him. So he better remain.

And Echiejile, Onazi, Joel Obi, Simi, etc were so impressive they were taken , in your opinion did they all deserve to go

Aina played out of his then natural position, l don't think he had a poor game as such. There were games were the whole team started poorly. And then picked up in the second half. In my opinion he wasn't given much opportunity to succeed but more opportunity to be judged harshly.

Aina was a stand out player in the Championship had played a few games for Chelsea. He didn't become quality because he went to Seria A, he was already a quality player. That's why he has played 16 out of thier 19 games this season.

Aina played left back at hull city...he played left back and left wingback for the super eagles before the world cup...so what do you mean by he was played out of position?

Aina played as a RB at Chelsea from his early teens l watched him several times , then went to Hull played predominantly as a RB and RW and also LB But any good player should be versatile with at least two positions possibly three.

That's misinformation you have presented.

Not exactly true.

Aina has always been comfortable playing on the left. In fact he has probably played more on the left in Torino.

Aina is not out of position on the left, he just did not do enough to show that he was obviously better than his competitors leading to the world cup.

Who else noticed we never saw this coming? No reported interests and links of any sort from the shitty Nigerian media. Thats how true deals happen, forget all these news of interests and links that never happen from year to year.

Several things.. He has generally shown an interest in the super eagles over time. He has sung and danced super eagles victory songs on his social media for instance. There is definitely interest there if we approach him before he becomes a super star.

What is exactly not true ?

That from his teenage years at Chelsea he played as a RB and indeed his first game for Chelsea was at RB, he has always been known as a RB that is his primary position. So what is not true ?

On loan at Hull he started the season at RB, and then RW or right sided midfield and then a few games as LB, his versatility coming to play. He was voted on several times in to the Championship team of the week as RB. Is that also not true ??

Ola Aina played his second game for Torino, coming off the bench to replace Florenzi at RB against Roma. Is that not true also? His first game was also of the bench to play LWB in a fluid 3-5-2 formation. He has been playing a lot of games as LWB in their preferred fluid 3-5-2 formation , so you could be right that he may have played more games in LWB , I don't know.

However, the pertinent and relevant time line was when he came to the SE, he had always been a RB or RWB but was not given a fair chance in that his preferred position, that's my position. Then we took to the competition a clearly expired Echijiele, which until tomorrow i never understood.

But slight change of subject Ola Aina named fastest player over three seconds in Seria A, that's a crazy stat, didn't know he was that fast or is it the league isn't that fast, I don't know.
