Uganda

They can cause problems for any team

I don't count Uganda as a small team.

The small teams here are Burundi, Madagascar, Benin,Kenya, Tanzania, Mauritania and Namibia..

Which one of them do u think will make it to the quarter final ??

Surprising how he didn't hold unto that ball. He spilled it beautifully for the Angolan player.

He was now angry with the defence

Moussa Marega, Beast for club

Beast for country

He's above average at best

He's playing a lowly rated opposition

Even for club, he had 11 goals and 7 assists in 29 appearances

Three Reasons Why Mikel Should Step Down For Iwobi As Super Eagles Playmaker
Published: June 24, 2019

Former Chelsea midfielder John Mike Obi returned to the Super Eagles after one year in the international wilderness to lead the team at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nation and much is expected from him.

Unfortunately, the 32-year-old failed to live up to his billing in their first match of the tournament against Burundi on Saturday as he was subbed out in 58th minute.
Though it ended 1-0 in Nigeria's favor, many Super Eagles fans are of the opinion that the team would have done better if Mikel and Iwobi weren't played out of position.
They believe Mikel should've played alongside Wilfred Ndidi at the defensive midfield position, while Iwobi operates as the team's playmaker to get positive result.
Just as proposed by the fans, allnigeriasoccer.com comes up with three reasons why Rohr must deploy Iwobi as his playmaker for the rest of their stay in Egypt

1. Alex Iwobi Can Orchestrate Quick counter-attacking Moves Than Mikel
Considering Nigeria's style of play, a speedy playmaker is needed to orchestrate many counter-attacking moves and a pacy iwobi is the best man for the job.
2. Iwobi's Defense-splitting Passes Are More Precise

Though Mikel is known for his wonderful passing accuracy, Iwobi's attack-initiating passes are more needed by the strikers and wingers to pounce on.
Mikel hardly created any goalscoring opportunity for Paul Onuachu against Burundi, which is a testament that the captain isn't the man for the playmaking position.

3. Mikel and Ndidi Combo Will Be Too Strong For Opponents To Penetrate
Mikel and Ndidi are two physical players who can out-muscle opponents and their partnership will definitely provide a strong shield to the back four.

This means that versatile Oghenakaro Etebo will have to drop down to the substitute bench while Iwobi takes over the number 10 position.

Ibukun Italoye

WHAT ELSE DOES ROHR NEED BE TOLD?

Olympique Marseille 1997 squad, I only know Victor Agali who used to play for Nigeria, the rest, I have not even heard their name. Yet you want to claim bigger than the EPL. What a joke. grin grin grin

It's glaring you don't know anything.

Two Marseille players were part of France 98 FIFA world cup winning team.

Blanc was the Marseille player that benched the only player from Chelsea. How come you don't know about that? grin

You think I am dull to see through your pranks? grin I will not list players that played in Ligue 1 during that era but I will go with UEFA ranking that clearly showed EPL was Mickey mouse league as at 1996.

For your information, Ligue 1 players dominated the French 1998 FIFA world cup winning team. grin

Things learned from Mali vs Mauritania

1) A giant is rising :Mali, remember the name with sweet crisp passing, midfield dribbling and wonderful play Mali is announcing itself on the African stage

2) Africans can play beautiful football : The match was the best of the tournament, both sides were organized, capable and played good football with little fouls

3) Marega is a beast: With a run of 40kph and a tank of all day running, Mali striker Marega is the last person you want your defence to face

4)A game of beautiful goals:Each goal fighting each other for the goal of the tournament, the Malians have dynamite on the legs

5) Mauritania is not so far behind : Having a high pass accuracy and comfortable on the ball, Mauritania were not over awed by their illustrious opponents and they had a goal for their troubles

6)Zanku is going places :Need I expatiate on this one grin

You did not watch or know EPL 1996/97. The point you made was that Chelsea was an average side. Explain how an Average side won the FA Cup and League Cup. Explain how top stars were in the league when Babayaro was in the league. I winder why you want to kill yourself with Coefficient.

Tell me the team in France during Babayaro's time that was bigger than Chelsea. Tell me the bigger players in France than that of the Premier League.

No France team even had money to compete in market for players. Till today, it is a Mickey mouse league.

UEFA ranking has given us all the explanation needed. EOD

PSG was the best club in the world as at 1998. grin

Facts don't lie.

Football dwells in two locations in Africa. North Africa and West Africa.

So far teams from both sides of the continent have won all their dwells barring Guinea and Mauritania.

Guess who were on the receiving sides, the wiping boys of the tournament? grin. The Eastern and Southern Africans. Not a single win or draw for them barring Madagascar.

Next round of Matches will be Tantalising cheesy, we will begin to see who the true big brothers of Africa are.

Senegal vs Morocco, Algeria vs Ivory coast, Mali vs Tunisia.

Let the games begin grin

Bayern Munich with the likes Matthaus, Effenberg, Oliver Khan, Lizarazu, Jeremies and Tarnat. We had Inter Milan with Roberto Baggio, Kanu, Ronaldo, Zamorano.

Who knew PSG.

These are stars I remember off the top of my head. Even Monaco was smoking that period with the likes of Ikpeba, Trezeguet, Thierry Henry and Guily.

You did not watch, you want to Google and argue.
