If this thread existed in 2013... These are the certain reactions/events:

- Most certainly our resident Senegalese-Ivorian, Chriskels would predict a 3-0 bashing for Keshi's Super Eagles based on how highly he rates Ivorian talents based in Europe.

- Joebie will play Mr Bonafide Realist as always and predict a loss for Nigeria without batting an eyelid. And he will say it is based on our group stage performances so far. In his own words, "We haven't played well or scored much goals".

- Earthquake3 will set a bet on Nigeria losing and even go with how many goals we will concede. Lol

- Mickael2 will give tactical reasons why we stand no chance against CIV.

- Bascovanveli will predict a win for Nigeria with no logical reason and people will say he is being crazily patriotic again.

- Icon4s will remind everyone of history pointing to how Nigeria should not be underrated but won't be taken seriously.

- TheGoodJoe will propose how we can take on the Ivorians to produce a shock. He will ask for more dare and risk takings. He will propose we play Omeruo but Icon4s may feel a little uneasy about it due to the Experience talk but he will eventually concede because it would be Keshi's decision in the end.

- Seeing Sunday Mba on that Starting XI list will shock most fans and they will be like, "Is Keshi mad? Who in the hell is Sunday Mba?? In short.. we have lost!"
But they will all change mouth when Mba scores the winner later on.

- Nigeria scores for 1-0 and fans say, "Wow! Looks like we will win this if it stays like this."

- CIV equalises and fans say, "Ahhh... They have woken up! We will lose 3-1 Las Las."

- Mba scores 2-1 and Nigeria wins. Fans say, "I knew we could do it! Naija for life!"

We are a funny people my dear Jihday Sir....

100% ! grin grin grin grin
But I wouldn't have raised eyebrow about Omeruo ahead of that game because of the Chemistry he had developed with Obaobona . smiley

But, guys do you know I prefer our Cameroon fixture to when we should have played DRC if we had topped the group.

Lol.... But we must go with an option eventually naa be it local or foreign.

Rohr has done well shaa in the aspect of luring some foreign borns. He got Aina and is using him now. It's true he always seem laid back in utilising the best young ones among our players.

As for local coaches. They have their merits and demerits too. I just don't wanna dwell on it Biko. Just hope all turns out okay because I really wanna see this new golden generation become golden indeed.

This Afcon 2019 and the Tokyo 2020 Olympics (after Afcon U-23) will dictate the direction in which our new golden generation heads.

abeg whatever we do, we shouldn't go local. can't even think of any available coach sef. do you have anybody in mind?

Renard is no better, go check out all his teams even Lille, always a low scoring team. Morocco have scored just thrice in this tourney, he's only marginally better than Rhor, their style is the same, good defensive organisation almost clueless on good attacking moves
True, yet some average pundits here will not let us hear word concerning Morocco

Leicester even released Okazaki meaning it is inevitable that they replace him. I just hope Nacho makes the most of this time off and get his mojo back under Brendan.

TheGoodJoe:

Leicester City were bound to add to their squad. It does not mean doom for anyone. Competition should always be welcomed. I have hammered playing time is not paramount but Nacho understanding the system and work ethics to achieve it.

Ayoze Perez is not coming for the number 9 role but he is going to play in the other pockets of the forward line. Brendan Rodgers has hammered that Nacho is to play Vardy's role.

So relax.

yes he's good, but I think the defensive side of his game is poor like the typical Nigerian coach, we'll start conceding some very poor goals and you go dey get high bp when we want to defend setpieces, also I don't see the NFF giving him the job again after what happened the previous times not sure they'll want to risk it

Me too. That's why I suggested a foreigner in my earlier posts from yesterday.
Among the locals only Amuneke and Siasia catches my fancy. But their shortcomings keep me away from considering them that much for now.

Yes agreed zinchenko stood no chance in midfield

But it's not easy adapting you left back ,you self know na

Realistically , he had a chance in the left back position because the two guys there are injury prone and not consistent like that unlike the Midfield guys that are very consistent and don't get injured easily, except De Bruyne

Remember, there was Mendy, before Delph and then Zinchenko. Now in some games, Guardiola prefers to even start Zinchenko when Mendy and Delph are fit. That shows a lot how the young man has grown.

In Ukraine, Zinchenko who you pointed above, was a winger plays as a Defensive midfielder. This is due to the young man's insane brilliance in understanding tactical play and movement.

If you like, call it Mumu growth.

Who else has noticed that TheGoodJoe doesn't discuss the Super Eagles any more. undecided

Zinchenko did so well there and also Fabian delph

If Mendy has been fit ,zinchenko or delph won't get a single minute there

But he did well and I am praising pep for that risk

Do you think a coach like mourinho will play zinchenko there ? He would rather convert otamendi stones and co rather than to play an unproven youngster there
