Although Akpeyi tried his best, the search needs to start for a competent keeper.

NFF should jumpstart the development of high profile strikers that can feature regularly in Europe. We lack that.

As for the young guys, they should all continue to develop at their respective clubs

Marjoribanks:

They were over running the midfield in the last 8 minutes a good coach will make a substitution to slow down the pace of the game.
I would remove Musa and put Shehu into the midfield push Etebo forward to close the Algerians down.
Kalu for Iwobi!

what kind of Coach is this .... grin grin grin grin

Tough luck to the team yes disappointed in the loss but we gave our all I can live with that. I'm not a fan of the goalkeeper but let's not blame him the free kick was well struck taken from an absolutely dangerous Spot. The algerians came with a good game plan and their quality players executed their plan well sometimes you just have to hold your hand up and say you lost to a better team.

Only criticism I will say is we still lack game management.

Should the coach go I think so I think he has taken us as far as we can go under him and I commend him for his effort but the nff should know it's not just about getting the right coach but ensuring they implement a system for bringing out top talents for our national teams.

Kudos to the boys for some good memories from this tournament the future is bright super Eagles forever
Let rohr be sacked sef so everyone will be happy. We shall be here to remind you all. Our players are average but hardworking.

Very painful.

As soon as I saw the list, I realized with Rohr, our mildfield and goalkeeper department can't improve.

Eze dey but you refused to use him.
Exactly. We should have been trying out different midfielder at every single opportunity.
Ogu was just a waste of space

I would have put on Mikel but does he have the legs to run around midfield?
we needed someone to hold possession and distribute tidy short passes to ease the tension and consume the time as most of our players were already fatigued. Mikel should have been introduced.

Ndidi is not World class but he is close to it

He just needs guidance and better competition (champions league football)

There's nothing like close to world class. You're either world class or not. No in betweens.

The Super Eagles really tried their best. I’m concerned with the name we will give this thread now that AFCON 2019 will soon be over and continue with deliberations concerning the Super Eagles.

Shehu concluded this past season as a RB. He played there 7 consecutive time in their last matches.

modified
Today, he is listed as a RB according to transfermarkt

BascoVanVeli:

He is a midfielder at club level. He did not say Rohr should put him at right back.

Just seen Mahrez goal. Well struck but Akpeyi's positioning was a bit suspect.

from what I saw we were the better side in the 2nd half. our midfield collapsed towards the end of the game.

That's all we need to do. Get more tactical minds in. Then keep searching for more players for reinforcement. We must not stop at the midfield and GK alone.

Ismael Bannacer was very good for the Algerians in midfield, stitching play and connecting passes with ease. He's been the best midfielder in this competition.
I wonder why Arsenal won't bring him back. He's currently better than anything they have in midfield.

Feghouli is a galatasary player, Onyekuru too,
Onyekuru got more goals than feghouli for gala, feghouli played all games for Algeria, Onyekuru played one game.

Does Nigeria have better players than Algeria?

Somebody was not doing his job right.

Rohr should go.

Frankly, Rohr should have been sacked since the world cup...he cost us a place in the second round.

Ekong was shiit in this game yet Rohr planned to use him till extra time.
The midfield was empty...pull one of the tackling ninjas (ndidi preferably) out and bring in Mikel
The decision to remove Chukwueze for Onyekuru was crap.

Keshi achieved a lot more with home based players...Rohr can't find a decent goalkeeper from the home based players...our football has retrogressed under Rohr, he should resign honourably.

Oga, Algerian players were just better than us, no need to play the blame game!

Fear is not a good thing. Akpeyi is in the goalpost for them to score. Once they score he's relieved.

I never see such a poor gk in my life. If the ball doesn't come directly to him, forget it,na goal.
True talk. Anytime an opponent shoots towards our goalpost I always feel a hard knock in my chest.

Our two mildfielders etebo n Ndidi were all chasing shadows tonight.

Sometimes the coach should know that tackles alone cannot win a game. What I saw in our two DM today was redundancy, two people doing same work.

Algeria is the winner of this tournament. The team is so organized just like modern European teams. This team will beat Super Eagles very well. No sentiments.
When I said this I was heavily criticized for saying the truth. What I do know is that Nigeria plays a limited pattern of football. We don't have that dynamic approach to games that's why our opponents read our game easily and clip our wings easily. Another factor is the result in Uyo, our boys underrated this team cos of that result not knowing that this team is synonymous to Manchester City with their eye for goals. Please accept the truth in good fate and move on.

Some people are just naturally bad loosers. We faced a superior team and lost. The Algerians have really come in leap and bounds. A total departure from the team we faced durring the qualifiers.
If the game was replayed, they will still win.
