Let them do and release formation for us to see

release you say, better to keep our opponents guessing, than to give them an edge

Here are the 11 Super Eagles player 'starting' against South Africa
uncova.com Nov 17, 2018 10:53 AM
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr is set to play a 3-5-2 formation which he last employed in Nigeria's famous 2-0 win against Iceland at the World Cup when South Africa play host against Nigeria at the FNB stadium on Saturday, November 17.

The game which is seen as a Group E top of the table encounter will see either one of the two teams book a ticket to the Nations cup in Cameroon next year.

Following injury to Odion Ighalo, Nigeria and Africa's top scorer in the qualifying series with seven goals, Legit.ng believes Rohr could drop his regular 4-3-3 formation in exchange for a 3-5-2 to pose more threats going forward.

Below is an explanation on how Rohr plans to execute the 3-5-2 formation he will use in today’s game against South Africa.

Goalkeeper: Ikechukwu Ezenwa. The Enyimba shot-stopper will get the nod to start ahead of Akpeyi following injury to Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper Francis Uzoho.

Defenders: Omeruo will enter the fray to partner Ekong and Leon Balogun just like against Iceland.

Midfielders: Jamiu Collins will play in left wing back, John Ogu, Oghenekaro Etebo as holding midfielders, Iwobi will play in his new no 10 position while Rohr could drop Ola Aina for Samuel Kalu to operate as right wing back.

Strikers: In attack, we expect to see the duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa just like the game against Iceland at the World Cup.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Nigeria had a feel of the turf of the FNB Stadium (nicknamed Soccercity) on Friday, November 16, as they get ready to battle host South Africa in an AFCON Group E qualifier on Saturday, November 17.

Stand-in captain Ahmed Musa has said he and his teammates are not thinking of a point from the encounter but want to take all three points that will guarantee Nigeria's qualification to AFCON 2019.

Netherlands are in a rebuilding process... Good for their football. Watch out for them. They will soon be world super team again.

Just imagine us not capping Ebuehi in a competitive match. The boy would have done a u-turn on us now.

Who else knew that this Southern African country does not go by the name "Swaziland" anymore, rather "Eswatini"?

The last time we played against them, they were Swaziland but presently, they are Eswatini grin grin

I noticed it when checking the AFCON qualifier result. I was so surprised that there could be a country in Africa whose name I haven't heard before. Lol. On checking up, I discovered it was Swaziland

That's my answer...

How many CMs do u see with world class speed? Rakitic and Kroos are not world class speedsters but they play at the top. The tactical indiscipline talk about Agu is a joke that I won't even get into. The fact is that they are lesser liked players and any excuse would do.

Oboy I was taken aback when I saw Eswatini versus Niger oo. Initially I felt, may be Eswatini was an unknown Island trynna punch above their weight, or maybe Eswatini was the name of a coach like SA journals always carry things like "Baxter versus Nigeria".I skipped it, buh, something just said guy check that out, my brother na so I open am come see "Eswatini (formerly Swaziland)" for the first line of the first paragraph of the article, and I was like undecided undecided

The thing suprise me too oh.

But I think it's high time African countries had dropped some of these colonial names and chosen our own names for ourselves.

Changing "Nigeria" to "Naija" won't be a bad idea. grin.

I am an Igbo boy born and bred in Plateau like P square, Mikel, Saint Obi, Obinna Nsofor etc. Plateau is a very beautiful land with spring water scattered across the state. They are core catholics like the Igbos and interaction with them and Igbos is so fluid....No domination threat or propaganda. The place was the seat of the ancient Kwararafa kingdom that ruled the middlebelt . They are very peaceful but the worst you can do is to push them to the wall....They fight like demons!
Their land is so richly blessed for agriculture and vast land and their major occupation is farming. Jos, the capital of the state houses the legendary St Mulumba boys college that produced some of the famous Nigeria. Bishop/Cardinal Ganaka is from Jos.
Plateau state is a state rich with different cultures.
Haven't had the opportunity to read about their history though.

Wow!

Never knew you were also JOStified!

Yeah, plateau people are really nice, were gullible in the past but they are becoming wiser now.

And you won't like to mess with a Tarok man, those guys are short-tempered.

And it's St. Marumba not mulumba.

Anybody know where to watch the match live streaming?

Meanwhile I have my concerns this is not one of our strongest line ups in the history of the SE.

The loss of lghalo, Victor Moses, Mikel Obi leaves us without our normal levels of cohesion and therefore vulnerable.

Outside of Musa our current strikers are not prolific.

It will require strict team discipline and cohesion to win this game.

It's more about the personnel.
Don't think our midfielders would be that disciplined to hold their own.
And playing Kalu as a RWB
