christinie: Look here, I've been to akwa ibom several times and even sef, it's not a matter of what was budgeted for and started and completed. You can not build schools that you did not budget for. You can not build water works you did not budget for You can not build skills centers that you did not budget for and so on and so on Go and look at the state's budget. Show me what akpabio commissioned beyond the road and flyover, the 1 cinema, 1 library and 1 football field.. I know you can not show me anything beyond what I listed and this is why it's hard for you people to come up with anything. I know akwa ibom more than you all combined.. |

bellyjean: Akwa Ibom was transformed by Akpabio. Truth be told, I marveled when I visited. Formerly Calabar used to be the popular destination in that region but he changed this trend. Also when Calabar Airport was undergoing renovation, the Airport built by Akpabio was very helpful to some of us who transit often. Is he not the one who built the stadium, why all this lies na? |

[s] richeso:[/s] I'm not interested in your rubbish, I said Akpabio after 8 years in office and the largest state budgets in Nigeria and the richest state in Nigeria did not build a single classroom, not 1 single hospital, not 1 single health center, not one single waterworks, not 1 single skills centers. Prove me wrong or STFU.. |

Not here to argue with you but since you are talking about schools, 95 I percent of public schools in AKS were upgraded to look better than private schools during Akpabio's regime under the Inter-Ministerial. The State Government Teachers salaries and allowances were increased to a very reasonable level and Public education from Primary to secondary level was made compulsory. Akpabio touched lives in AKS in no small measures. If you refuse to see his goodwill just because you carry old brooms that is your own business. Like I said earlier, am not here to argue with you. Good morning and bye. quote author=aresa post=44266663] Look here, I've been to akwa ibom several times and even sef, it's not a matter of what was budgeted for and started and completed. christinie: What is this one talking about? I said show us what he built apart from road, 1 flyover, 1 cinema, 1 library and 1 football field. Less than 4 projects and akwa ibom is still broke with N67 billion debt that they have to payback for 20 years... Poorer states commissioned dozens of projects and amaechi commissioned hundreds. |

senior123: Ur dormantt brain doesn't tells u that akpabio single handedly renovated multiple of schools in Akwa, built the best hospital in Akwa Ibom, built the best prisons in Akwa Ibom, built the best stadia in West Africa in Akwa Ibom, built several recreational centers in Akwa Ibom. Some of u are worst than witches. Maybe u need more pictures 1 Like |

Abagworo: Akpabio tried everywhere. I'm not from annang axis nor his senatorial district but I can tell you that he was d best thing that happened to d entire South South in terms of leadership. Uyo has bin totally transformed from a mere pedestrian state to a tourist attractive state. Hope u are aware that the specialist hospital has commenced operation. The Tropicana galleria is witnessing unprecedented influx of people. Nigerian government is playing politics with football if not, all Nigeria matches should be played in uyo new International stadium to showcase Nigerian beauty. So many roads, 4fly overs amongst others. Akpabio is a great man 1 Like |

It deeply saddens my heart that I have to write on this thread/post again. The disease that plagued our fathers (the immediate past generation) is getting rife amongst us. We don't know that leadership, responsibility, accountability, fidelity are members of thesame body. If you want a philanthropist fine, u can name Bill gates and co. whose charitable activities are out of good heart and good will and you wouldn't hold/nag/question them if they did noting to better humanity. Yet, accountability and responsibility is their watchword. Now, our governors and leaders in all capacities; aren't they supposed to be better? They have a mandate, they have responsibilities to the citizens, they should be accountable to us. We have a vision and what we want to achieve. We had goals and targets. We are looking to better the lots of our children and children's children. A great man once said that "we do not inherit this earth from our fathers, but we borrow it from our children, the future generations, the tomorrow people". We deliberated and concluded that we select some set of people who share in our vision to show us the way to achieving our vision. We selected charismatic, eloquent, intelligent, courageous people to lead us. We gave them our mandates, we gave them responsibilities by putting the in position of power and the assured us that they would be accountable to us every step of the way. But what do we get from them? Mediocrity, Deceit, abuse of power, terror and threats, maltreatments, neglection, impunity, nepotism. What happened to the oath they took? Again, I say Akwa ibom doesn't deserve this kind of mediocrity from her leaders. Akwa ibom should be as beautiful as hawaii, cool as venice, developed as Singapore, politically stable as Liechtenstein. Come on, celebrating road construction and some park beautification in this 21st century? habaaaaa. When countries of the world are debating on more pressing issues. Chaiii, I believe if we know the difference between rights and privilege, responsibility and philanthrophism, we would have rejected this show of shame and malaignment from our leaders a long time ago. Youths of today, I am begging us to be futuristic and look beyond satisfying our stomach today. We deserve more from the people we elect to lead us. 2019 is near. Let every one wishing to contest in our localities know that it isn't going to be business as usual. If u want to serve, u must be ready to serve. Encourage forthright individuals among us to lead us, and not all these agberos who only want to wake up in moneyland. Posterity will demand from us how we spent our today. #BeWise God bless Nigeria |

christinie: At least you finally agreed that you can not show us anything akpabio built beyond the road, 1 flyover, 1 cinema, 2 library and 1 football field... The richest state in Nigeria with less than 5 million people and the largest budgets in the history of Nigeria even than even Lagos state produced less than 4 mediocre projects while poorer states delivered dozens and hundreds. On top of that, Akwa Ibom is saddled with N67 billion dent and 20 years worth of payments.. loser... |

BTW, I said Osun state commissioned more projects than the entire SS and SE except Amaechi in Rivers who delivered hundreds of projects, but I don't see any of these noise makers accept my challenge... Are you scared to find out that little and poor Osun commissioned more projects than the whole of SE and SS combined? |

Actually, I see no reason why Akwa Ibom shouldnt look like Hawaii, given the fact that it's one of the richest states in Nigeria. Not saying their leaders arent trying, dont get me wrong. |

Whoever posted this unnecessary verbiage does not know Akwa Ibom. This is fairy-tale from a paid e-rat to whitewash and cloak the stench from Akpabio's itchy cadaver. The man Akpabio despoiled my homeland, squandered trillions of Naira windfall on phantom projects that mostly exist in still pictures and propaganda spewing minds like this. And for the information of these pictures are that of sections of Uyo, (not Ukana where Akpabio hails from). The first photo is that of the roundabout at Dominic Utuk Avenue by Wellington Bassey Way (seat of the government house, Uyo). The second is the water fountain at Nsikak Eduok Avenue by Oron Road. The rest are aerial shots of the state capital. It is true that Akpabio built some roads in the state (at extremely embarrassingly inflated costs) and built some monuments, including the so-called e-library, Ibom Tropicana (whatever that means), Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, etc. It is also true that the amount of oil windfall money he squandered could turn Akwa Ibom into a Dubai, three times over. Go figure. 1 Like |

For everyone that chooses to defend theman God'swill akpabio I say weldone. Firstly like some of my exposed brethren already pointed out. Most of the things akpabio did were things already billed to be done but instead he embarked on a show of shame and, killed all the bright minds in akwa ibom state, look at the mediocre airport he built, and the stadium that udom had to come and clear the debt incurred on akwa ibom purse. Tropicana gulped over 100 billion from an original 20 billion contract price yet was not completed. I can keep counting but akpabio was just a spendthrift with no direction. As far as I'm concerned; none of his projects were of any economic importance to the people of akwa ibom state. |
