My people have a saying that a woman who loses her children to death in their sleep; anytime the only surviving one is asleep she goes to pinch him to ensure he's still alive. El Rufai has been known to be a religious... I do not want to sound insolent. So even when his intent is harmless no one will know. Bro. Inasmuch as I may not be living in the north, this particular bill will hit the Christians harder in the long run. Talking about men of God making money from crusades is an unreasonable generalisation. No doubt there are wolves in sheep's clothing who use the church as a tool for pecuniary gains, a lot of them. It's not a surprise for true Christians as it was foretold in the bible that in the last days men shall be lovers of themselves rather than lovers of God. False prophets shall arise and shall deceive many; and a whole lot of other negative vices already happening in the church today. But that does not mean the genuine ones should be stopped from doing the work commanded of them. If audio and video messages are banned from being sold in roadside shops, what then becomes of Christian bookshops and stationery stores?

As I said earlier, I see no reason why there must be a ban on the sale of religious books - and I must include - audio and video materials. That's within the jurisdiction of the Nigerian Copyrights Commission.

As regards genuine men of God, I never doubted their existence (that's why I placed the phrase in quotes). Still, this bill doesn't stop them from doing God's work. The major issue is, mutual respect among all religions.

However, I understand your fears about El-rufai's reputation. We might never know his real intentions but God does. And I'm sure he(God) cannot be outsmarted.

Ride on mallam El-Rufai

Nigeria is a secular state I think many people don't understand what it legally means to practice religion in a secular state.

•Emphasis on doctrinal differences is weakening our religion in the country in the following areas

•Rivalries amongst denominations
•Petty politics in church coupled with ethnic biases.
•our country Nigeria is building big cathedrals and mosque instead of building men.
Nigeria is a secular state but you have a religious constitution in the form of sharia in operation in some northern states?

Nigeria is a secular state but you have Islamic kings all over the north?

Nigeria is a secular state but your boko president has since joined an Islamic military alliance?

I don't blame you ever lying muslim bastards but the foolish non muslims who swallow your foolish excuses and lies.

My major contention with this bill is the attempt to regulate religion by licensing preachers, that to me is a no-no and is against the principle of freedom of expression.

I do not have to apply for a license to propagate my faith, under what considerations will the licenses be issued? At whose discretion or indiscretion will the licences be issued, will they give "targeted" licences just as CBN did targeted recruitments?

Government has no business giving license to preach, however is a preacher runs foul of the law definitely be can be tried under existing laws doe whatever crime has been committed.

This law they seek to enact is mundane and archaic and should be resisted by all good thinking Nigerians.

Since El-Rufai is now trying to right all those wrongs, what is then the fuss all about?

For your information, I don't have to be a muslim to express my honest opinion here...so take some chill pills.

A ploy to kill Christian evangelism, totally eliminate outdoor crusades as well as impede apostolic visits. Someone should tell him that it is a wild goose chase. Others have gone this anti-Christian path before, their scars are there for all to see. Nigeria isn't Turkey. Today the entire world comes to Nigeria to learn how Christian warfare prayers are made.

You rootless Christians that are applauding this self-destructive policy, be ready to share in the disaster that will follow shortly. Nigeria may not have great scientists, but we sure can boast of a considerable number of Christian prayer warlords. El Rufai and every lawmaker that assent this bill will wish they never visited this world when Heaven opens their case files.

I advise him to go ask Oshiomhole why he inexplicably rescinded his decision to tax church signposts in Edo state. My GOD, the Christian GOD is a Consuming Fire (Hebrews 12:29).

So, you will wake up early tomorrow and go queue up in front of Embassies of those countries that would rather have Scientists than Prayer Warriors. Security men will flog your stupid ass while you beg for visa.

Your Prayer Warriors are only good for warfare, abi?. You are simply delusional.

So Religious Bill will right the 'wrong'?

His no. 1 target is really Christianity - both authentic and fake. Others are Shiitees, Amadiyah Society and genera non- Muslim populations.

The plan has been there for a long time. They feel this is perhaps the best time to implement it.

Is PMB part of the agenda? Time will tell.

I am not afraid of the bill. It will not prosper. Greater is he that is in us than hell rufai and all those who devise evil against Christianity. It did not start today. Christians have gone through worse persecution and survived. They are only fighting against God and Jesus who is the head of the universal church.

We Christians should vehemently oppose the bills within the ambient of the law and God will do the rest. Islamic religion is the one that should be regulated for the atrocities it has caused the society. They are the terrorists groups all across the world.

If the bill is successfully passed, what stops the southern States to pass their own bill restricting Islam worship in the south. The teaching of Islamic studies should be banned in our schools. This is where they get indoctrinated to commit atrocities. I think we are giving too much respect to these fanatics that call themselves Muslims.

They know that most of their people are already seeing the light through the gospel and are afraid that if nothing is done, Islam will not have a future in Nigeria.

Whatever they do, we are more than conquerors.

Acording to islamic doctrine or rather manifesto, the world is divided into two zones: Dar al-Islam (house of Islam) and Dar al-Harb (house of war). The “people of the book,” whether Jews or Christians, are separated into “dhimmis” if they live in Dar al-Islam and accept the domination of Islam, and “harbi” if they live in a “war zone.” Besides Dar al-Islam and Dar al-Harb, there is a third zone — the lands where there is a truce, or interrupted war, and the truce is temporary and may not last longer than ten years.

For Islamic theologians, therefore, the world is defined by jihad. Muslims must take on this “effort” to Islamize the world, to bring all lands into Dar al-Islam and subjugate all of humanity to Allah’s laws. In Arabic, “harbi” derives from “harb” (war) and is used as a name for those against whom war is being waged and who are defined by this war.

The concept “harbi” is only inexactly rendered by “enemy.” It is possible to have enemies without making war on them and after a war, these enemies can become allies. “Harbi” is not a passing condition, but a state of being which only ends with the extinction of those it applies to. For those who are making war, the “harbi” is what the Jews were to the National Socialists in 1939-1945 in any lands occupied by Nazi armies. Only the concept “exterminate” offers a sufficient idea of what a “harbi” is. For Islam, peoples who are not Muslim are to be exterminated.

Muslims and their accomplices also say that Islam is tolerant. Of course, everything belies this claim. In Arabic, “dhimmi” is congruent with the concept “tolerates.” A dhimmi is a Jew or a Christian whose presence Islam tolerates in conquered territory . “The laws of sharia concerning dhimmi are many,” writes Bat Ye’or. They are liable to special taxes. They are forbidden to build, enlarge or restore religious buildings (churches or synagogues). Their religion is not forbidden, but it must be discreet (no ringing of bells). Their witness testimony against a Muslim is not recognized. They are condemned to death if they marry a Muslim woman or display a desire to convert a Muslim, They cannot assume any honorary office. They are required to contribute financially to the jihad to conquer new lands. Their country is called “fey” and it is war booty. Victorious Islam decides which “rights” are allowed to the dhimmi. Negotiation is not possible. The dhimmi is an erstwhile harbi who has accepted the triumph of Islam. In return, he is “protected” against the laws of jihad — slavery, massacre, plundering and division of booty. It is from this “protection” that the accomplices of Islam have formulated its “tolerance.” If the dhimmis act up and become rebellious, they become harbi and the laws of jihad apply to them. Existence as dhimmi, subjected to the most unjust system there has ever existed in the world, is spreading everywhere across the world and our country is not left out as can be seen in the Christian middle belt and in the NE targetting minority Christian tribes by groups like the Fulani jihadist militias and Boko Haram respectively.

That religious bill is a very stupid bill. How can you say the state governor should have the rights to decide how religion will be practiced in their states when there are muslims and Christians living everywhere in Nigeria. The governor of Kano will always be a muslim and the governor of Imo will always be a christain. Why would you pass a law that discriminates and oppresses the minority. That is just fostering up another war.
Essentially you are giving the right to tear down mosques in the southern states and tear down churches in Northern states.

Again, section 10 says there are two main islamic preachers licenses available for the two islam religious groups and they just gave christains two preachers as well since we gave muslims two preachers. Well christainity has Catholic, Pentocoastal, Anglican, Deeper life, Mountain on fire, zionist etccc..... so are we going to license each one?

And what about the igbo jewish communities, the pagans and the traditional worshippers, ifa, amadioha, god of rain and sun etc? Do they get licenses too, i mean they are religions and they are entitled to the same rights that we have. Because they will demand it soon enough.

Secondly, section 11 of the bill says that ministerial would be given an allowance. From where? Nigeria is not paying any religious figure from its national budget. No way.

It is stupid bill and except the laws applies at a federal level, it will never work. It will just cause fight in every state.
