djraymy:Yes, Lagos is. You need few Lagos hustle to make it down here and our pple are getting lazy by the day. While some pple can transport themselves from Sango ota to Island with crazy traffic, Abuja pple are not ready to endure that. Hustle starts and ends in gidi.... |

Nice write up op. The major issue freshers have here is defining their class and staying true to themselves.I read that lady's story and I felt she was too comfortable in her hosts apartment. If you are planning to relocate to abj, plan for your accommodation beforehand and remember to cut your coat according to you size. I must say that there more job opportunities in abj. 3 Likes 1 Share |

I was luck when I came. I had one trusted friend. Accommodation was sorted. I almost had issue with the class thing because my friend's pocket is deeper than mine but I quickly adjust and one principle I also practise is"if I can't afford it, I don't really need it". It will help an up and coming individual in Abuja. I only sit out when it is very important, and I don't allow peer pressure at all. Once I close from work, I always ensure my house is my number one destination. 15 Likes 2 Shares |

donephi:Thanks Boss... I live in the suburb of Abuja. The most bubbling place after main town. I think that's enough clue. Secondly, a self contain or bed sitter cost 150k, if you are lucky(sadly there may not be water), to 300k(with water of course) in where I live... I don't stay in a self contain tho. |

femi4: Brother, fake life is the order of the day here. You see folks who have nothing but the clothes they put on do stuffs like they are Osinbajo's firstborn. My oga wanted me to help collect something from his house sometimes ago, only for him to give me a hotel address. I was shocked. I thought maybe he was just chilling there for the time being. Some weeks later, we were muzzing on expensive wine at a high brow lounge (at his expense though) when I subtly asked him. He told me he doesn't have a house! How much my oga dey collect wey him dey sleep for hotel?!!!! To add insult to injury, he doesn't have a car and whenever he is going to present a proposal, he won't even be humble enough to take a cab, he will rent an exotic car, rent a driver and dress in expensive suits that even our oga at the top can not wear. Some months later, he was sacked and he had to squat at my humble abode for 2 months in Gwagwalada before relocating to Benue state. Imagine! What could be more fake? 28 Likes 1 Share |

Good pointers...as per accommodation there are a lot of houses with good BQs ...you can enquire from megaurds as those ones are usually cheaper. 1 Like |

Abuja is a fine place to be in. If you are fresher in Abuja, pls stay in FCT and avoid Abuja core city. You can get good accommodation in Lugbe, Chika, Kuje, etc. There are good roads to connect you to your place of work. Avoid fake life and fake friends, live within your means and you will be happy. |

Here to learn ...keep the comments coming Transportation cost in Abuja isn't as expensive as in lagos but you need to know your routes because all the roads are similar ,I missed my way several times ,.... Always try to cook ,avoid eating out Be security concious, always check the boot of the cab you are about to take . |

stevoskyj:My guess is either your family is in Abuja or you are very comfortable here if not, you will see the motivation immediately your host you are squatting with start giving you attitude. My advice, leave your comfort zone now... be swift about it. If you are a graduate and have served, time is far spent. And my motivation is, I have a family to support... I lost my dad late last year and I'm taking responsibility of contributing my quota to the well being of my family back home, at least before I get married... it's a personal task. You don't need to lose your dad before you get motivated. Please brother, do something before something do you. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, I CAN SEND YOU A COPY OF A WELL DESIGNED AND ATTRACTIVE CV.. FREE OF CHARGE. My joy is that every young man/woman should take up responsibility. 16 Likes 1 Share |

Abuja is just like kano, only that things are cheaper in kano. But I don't think to get an apartment or life in general is that difficult. Surprised reading some of the comments... 1 Like |

Abuja is like London where the very rich buy up houses but leave them empty. They push the house prices up because they have disposable income. Maitama, wuse and garki used to be affordable but sadly that has changed now. 5 Likes |
