cheldas: No, you cannot get another expedited interview. Your option might be to follow the path of those trying to contact someone for a closer date. I would suggest you apply with your wife. The idea is that you have to prove beyond reasonable doubt to the VO. Try not to leave room for doubt by covering any supposed loophole (acct name shld match with name on passport....etc). Try to think of loopholes in your application and haven successfully blocked them, pray to God to see you through. |

@cheldas: When I applied, my maiden name was on my bank statement and my passport had my new last name. I went with my hubby's bank statement and mine as well. I had little compared to hubby's statement but on the form and during the interview I indicated that hubby was sponsoring the trip and I was traveling alone. After the VO checked my acct statement he asked for hubby's own. So in my opinion, I don't think the problem was the different last names on your wife's document. cheldas: 3 Likes |

@Cheldas. Sorry for the waste of time and money and stress. However I agree with the previous poster, accont name is not the ish. The account balance however is. IMO your wife did not handle that part well. Give me your statement means 'Show me you can afford this venture' She should not wait to be asked to show Mr Cheldas the sponsor's account. Rather she should have said: My husband is the Sponsor and these are our statements. He looked at the account and saw insufficent money. To the best of his knowledge that's all the money at your wife's disposal.never forget, the burden is on you not the VO. So if you want to change the account name, fine and good but let her correct the lapse. God's grace 9 Likes |

debby516:All information filled on the form IS AT THE TIME YOU ARE FILLING THE FORM. Ok so if you were single when you filled the form, but your wedding is 1 week after you filled the form, shebi you go put married in marital status? At the point you filled the form, were you married to warrant you filling married? Same will apply to your current location when filling the form now. |

brokewaist: All banks do this. I have had this issue with Diamond and GTbank. They will credit your account at official rate. The rule of thumb for foreign transactions is that if you may return an item, don't use your card. 1 Like |

Hello everyone. Hope everyone is doing good. Please, i will like to find out something from experienced mama's and papa's in the house. Please, i will like to visit the UK with my baby who is a dual citizen. US passport and Naija Passport. I mentioned her during my UK application since i will travel with her. I have my own UK visa on my naija PP but my baby doesnt have a UK visa since US passport holders doesn't need a Visa to travel to the UK. She came back to naija with ETC after birthing her early dis year. QUESTION: Which passport will i use to buy her ticket? QUESTION 2: Which passports and how do i present them thru immigration both for inbound and outbound from naija to UK. Thanks as i expect your replies.... |

[quote author=cheldas post=48754075]Good mamas in the building, my wife was at the embassy yesterday Not sure if it's necessary for ur wife to submit her statements since u'd be the one sponsoring. I may be wrong but all my visa applications ever, I don't put my bank statements. I always say husband is sponsoring and cost of trip to me is zero. Except of course if uve said u'd be paying for a part of the trip. This has worked for all my uk visas and the oda European visas. Note, my occupation has always been homemaker. |
