With PTE-A score of 20 points, I applied without claiming work experience points. Thanks to everyone on this thread who answered queries, dropped their 2cents et al. They were quite helpful! akinnawou: samge: Thanks! Actually, the fastest I read was for Johnsontade who had about 13 days or so. Only after I read his, did I decide to up my language points by writing PTE-A (which thankfully I clinched in the first sitting), and not claim work experience points. Thanks to him for sharing, as well. Led me unto a shorter path. It's highly likely that work experience verification would make an application take longer. I guess. |

Esty4eva: I used IELTS for EA assessment and PTE-A for my EOI. No proof of funds requested. virtual3xpert:Mechanical Engineer tunai:For speaking, I actually watched a few youtube videos and then googled tips for speaking. One particular tip I remember is not to pause talking for too long- just keep talking; the mic shuts off after a few seconds pause and then all you get recorded is your speech before the cutoff which might be inadequate. Unfortunately, I didn't bookmark any of the sites or videos, I would have shared. Just search google, you should find tons of tips for each speaking aspect. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Did you speak with your normal Nigerian accent and did you take the test in Nigeria ( what center). I am beginning to think that my Nigerian accent is not favourable for the test, I might also try to register with your exam center. jukeblam: |

Just do a follow up call, you paid them money for the service and if they do not deliver within stipulated time, you have the right to call them. I had to call them severally, before they gave me an outcome Okosay: |

Congratulations Jukeblam... To set the record straight for all, Engineer Australia has a peculiar way of assessing engineers. They use CD-R template to assess your knowledge and skill in the occupation claimed. This makes it easy for people to use experience gained during IT or short employment to write a good CDR but other assessing authority don't use this style. To avoid numerous and unanswered questions, it is advisable that you read the website of your assessing authority thoroughly for the requirements. I know that most require minimum of one year experience before you get positive assessment. No further questions will be entertained with respect to this. 1 Like |

malkinburg: Bro I appreciate your idea but the info I got is that as long as I put up an application before the deadline, it will be valid. I intend to speak to a migration agent to confirm as I already have an appointment. I would appreciate any help in writing the CDR |

Thanks all for this informative thread. I want to ask how one could check the occupation ceiling for his/her prefer nominated occupation. I understand that the chances of been invited after submitting an EOI depends on several things but one of it is the numbers of slots allocated to that occupation for that year and how many is left by the time u submit ur EOI. I have several related occupation on the SOL list I can nominate, but I want to check the occupation ceiling on them before deciding which of them to nominate. So, how can I check this? Thanks. @bellong @scrollout |

Dfavouredone Go to border.gov.au and navigate to the skill select page. A way to get there is by clicking on working visa n then u will see skill select there on the left pane. On the skill select page u will see occupation ceiling as one of the options there. 2 Likes |
