Congratulations, May your path be made clear. As I await the same good news for my family for the same NSW 190, I have been networking with people (migrants and citizens) in my chosen industry as well as specialist recruiters. We are in constant contact on a personal and professional level. I believe if you make contacts well in advance of your arrival, you may find settling in easier. Also, I hope you've begun making school plans. This should assist you.

Good morning e-family. As it has always been my habit(bad habit) I have always tended towards being a silent passive reader (I answer questions o because plenty people PM me and I answer o, lol guilty conscience is worrying me)

Anyway, I am first of all grateful to God and second, my biggest thank you goes to Bellong (May the Lord perfect all that concerns you in Jesus Name Sir).

To everyone who recently got their grant and ITAs, I say big congratulations to you all.

I want to also say a very big thank you to this e-family, without this forum, I probably won't be a PR visa holder today.

I have gotten my grant, for me, my husband and our son yesterday morning by 5.34 am. I will come back to put a detailed timeline but I lodged on the 18th of May (190 NSW Visa) on my Mum's birthday and at exactly 4 months, 18th of September, on my nieces' birthday, grant came. I am super thankful to you all and I am most grateful to God.

Thank you MamaJaz, Ucheylee, everyone really, everyone. Thank you and God bless!

PS: Please continue to ask me questions, I won't hesitate to answer or be of help.

So what you need to do is either re-present your tasks matching it closely with the ANZSCO code or even nominating another occupation entirely.

We had to nominate another occupation closely related to the former hence the positive reassessment. We didnt change any task just the nominated occupation. Hope this helps.

That is what i'm trying to do, "nominating another occupation entirely, same way you and your boo did.

so my question, when you nominated another occupation did you present another set of documents like transcript and employment history or you used your initial documents for your reassessment and how much did you pay vetassess ? Did you pay for a reassessment or payed for a new occupation entirely

your response will be of great help.

I submitted all the documents they requested for. For POF, I used my Uncle's house valued (#7.5M) by an Estate Valuer in my name and some British Pounds in my account (am in the UK) totalling AUD$53,000 (Oanda converter). I gave them six months statement.

Also, I certified all documents.

Hope this helps

Gurus in the house, i hail. Thanks for all ur invaluable advise.

Please am in a serious fix rigth now. Am nominating electrical engineering through EA. I was told i have to provide a tax statement. Unfortunately, my former company did not deduct tax frm my salary so i cant do PAYE (pay as you earn) and now i have to do personal income tax (PIT) on my own.
My pay per annum is N1.5mil but my fear is dat based on EA standard, isn't dat amount too small for an engineer?
What is a reasonable income fr an engineer?
Thanks.

Please any response wil be very much appreciated. Thank you

Date of first entry 24 February 2018.

Thank you so much guys, you have all been of tremendous help. I pray that you receive your positive outcome.

Hello all, its been a while since I came here, congrats to everyone who have been successful, and to those yet to succeed, dont stop oh.

Just to update you guys on my situation, which I must say is a bit unique. Though I have Australian PR now, I am currently living and working in New Zealand. I left Naija last week, on the 11th, but about 2 months before leaving I started applying for jobs,I received lots of regret mails, but in the midst of those I got interviewed as well bybsome other firms and had video interviews with 3 accounting firms (I work as an auditor) and these interviews I believe would have landed me an offer if not that I got another offer and emailed the firms about my decision not to continue.

Like I once mentioned on this thread, your Australian PR gives you the right to work and live in both Australia and New Zealand. I was able to leverage on the resources within my firm to secure a job with the same accounting firm in New Zealand, I received my offer before resigning, na God do am. My flight was via Dubai, I spent about 24 hours there and emirates lodged me in a hotel and this gave me the opportunity to go see the city, it was great experience. I also had to do a stopover in Australia to activate my PR, I arrived Australia on the 13th, the jet lag was not too bad for me sha. On the 14th I went to register for Medicare, open a bank account and also got a tax number, I received a temporary medicare printout while I was told the main one would be sent in two weeks. With that done, I chilled in Oz for a day and early on the 16th I flew to Melbourne from there to New Zealand.

My job is in the capital, Wellington, though it isnt the biggest city, Auckland is the commercial capital of the country. Upon arrival in New Zealand, I had no issues with immigration, my passport was stamped and I proceeded to my accomodation. Between the 18th and today, I have gone to open a bank account and apply for my tax number. They dont have medicare like OZ although the government subsidises costs for you. So far things have been okay, not many Africans in the city , I see one or two everyday though. Wellington is a nice small city, weather is about the same as Australia which was cold for me by the way, the temprature is about 9-11 degrees and winter is already over oh but its still cold. If I had know I would have brought more clothes to protect from the cold, mufflers included.

Based on my time in both countries I think Wellington is a bit more expensive in terms of a decent accomodation than Australia and as you know rent is the biggest cost to be incurred.

I'll end this long post by advising accountants, start looking for jobs a month before you leave, its accounting, IFRS is the same everywhere, if you have ACCA, you can easily convert in both countries. One thing I did while Looking for a job was to include my visa status in my CV, so under the heading I had this "Visa Status- Australian Permanent Resident" that way they know thay you have work rights. Although one recruiter called me and asked me when I would be in Australia and I told him I had a job in Naija and was hoping to get an offer before moving, he said I may not get but to call him when I arrive. So you might be lucky and an offer will come while you're still in Naija and it will just make things easier.

But all I'm saying is, dont limit yourself to Australia alone, Goodluck! Please pardon my typos and grammar its 11:43pm.

Alright.

Our situation: We didnt present anything for reassessment. NOTHING. Just a change in occupation.

However every case has its peculiarities so maybe u should share your outcome and profile with us here so we all can see the reasons for the negative outcome and possible recommendations.

Reassessment fee was about 650 AUD. We paid about 810 AUD initially for Assessment.
Rooneyboy:

That is what i'm trying to do, "nominating another occupation entirely, same way you and your boo did.

so my question, when you nominated another occupation did you present another set of documents like transcript and employment history or you used your initial documents for your reassessment and how much did you pay vetassess ? Did you pay for a reassessment or payed for a new occupation entirely

your response will be of great help.

Goodevening E-Family,

l've been an observer on this thread and i give kudos to everyone for their great contribution for i have been quiet enlightened through it.

My question is this, I have OND, HND & B.Eng with about 3yrs working experience before i got my B.Eng. I intend processing PR, I want to know what are my chances of scaling through.

Gurus in the house your advise will be of help,
Thanks
