I pity southern nigeria cos one day may come the whole southern nigeria will b part of Uthomada folio vision of islamalizing the whole nigeria.

Instead of taking action we are all here on Nairaland and other media outlets making noise.
Instead of our generals in the military and politics to take their stand they are all keeping mute.
Instead of our traditional leaders and governors to come on a single front and resist; we are busy playing SW vs SE vs SS tribal war...

Am sorry for my people...

Our leaders both SW SE SS military; political and traditional leaders have all betrayed us.

A joint statement made by JNI!!! Do you guys see what's going on here? now they are trying to throw religion into this Fulani mess, by so doing they would create a huge dilemma. In the next few days, if a region decides to defend itself against Fulani invasion, someone in the north would claim it is an attack on a particular religion. I laugh at how the northerners use religion to hide their evil acts. SE/SS governors need to :

1.push for their respective state houses and reps members to sign a land protection act banning the activities of Fulani herdsmen
2. Create an armed vigilante force.
3. Create an armed border patrol force to watch over those communities sharing borders with Northern States.

These vigilante and border patrol force should totally exclude any one from the Nigerian police force and the Nigerian Military. These organizations have shown time and again that their allegiance lies with the North and not the Federal republic of Nigeria.

Why shd Fulanis herd cattle (their own assets) on others' assets (land and crops)?

Is it right to destroy anybody's crops with cattle? Would the Sultan be happy if I took my goats or dogs to his personal land to keep and graze?

Don't they have cattle in other civilized parts of the world?

Is the system of cattle herding by Nigerian Fulanis the best, even for the Fulanis?

Why haven't the Fulani herdsmen struck anywhere in the North West but in the South South, South West, South East and North Central?

Is the Sultan saying all the victims are lying against the Fulanis from Oyo, Ondo, Osun, Kwara, Plateau, Benue, Delta, Edo, Abia, Enugu, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, etc? Isn't this ridiculous?

Why are people in these Southern states not 'lying' against law abiding Hausas and Fulanis in their midst?

Why can't the owners of the cattle, who are business owners, not invest in ranching? Why do they prefer free grass and crops of others? Don't they sell their cattle for profit?

The Sultan and Fulani apologists shd know that you can't have progress without justice.

Well said. The Sultan and northern govs should not utter any more words if they have nothing reasonable to say. It is insulting for them to repeat what they instructed the IG to say on this matter, as if they are talking to fools

He's even insulting the intelligence of the victims and d dead.

You should tell your brother the truth no matter how bitter. If you indulge him you're just destroying him. The Sultan needs to realize this.

Why can't he call on the cattle owners to inest massively in land and take away those cows and the poor herders off the forests and roads? Is this not better for them and everybody?

Let them keep denying. Those who attacked Agatu, were they not with cows ?
Those who attacked Falaye farm nko ?

An organisation led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, has described as “absurd” and “unfortunate” the widespread insinuation that Fulani herdsmen are responsible for the attacks on villagers in Benue, Enugu, Nasarawa and other parts of the country.
The Jama’atu Nasril Islam, JNI, a coalition of several Islamic groups in Nigeria, stated this on Sunday. The Sultan is the head of the JNI.
In the statement, signed by Khalid Aliyu, the organisation’s secretary-general, the JNI said it was shocked by the attacks.
“Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) received with great shock and deep concern the news of incessant killings and maiming of innocent lives and the destruction of public and private properties.
“Of particular concern are the brutal murders of people in Agatu-Benue state, Nnibo-Enugu state and some parts of Nasarawa state.
“It is indeed alarming that within few weeks, deadly attacks were reportedly unleashed while the perpetrators go un-arrested. JNI therefore condemns in strong terms these repeated heinous attacks and once again calls on the relevant security agencies to brace up to the trends, in order to put a stop to this ugly tide, as human lives are sacred and must be seen to be treated as so,” the statement said.
The JNI said the attacks were criminal in nature and should be treated as such.
“The repeated heinous acts of attacks are crimes against the citizenry and the perpetrators are therefore criminals and must be treated so.”
Foramfera
It, however, said the attacks were not carried out by Fulani herdsmen.
“It is indeed absurd and most unfortunate that certain groups or people ascribe the incidence on ethnic and/or religious premise and to whimsically apportion blame in order to batter the gradual restoration of peace and security in Nigeria,” it said.
The JNI, which commiserated with the victims of the attack, also called for “concerted introspection and commitment by relevant agencies to take proactive and effective measures in addressing this pernicious problem.”
Nigerians have condemned the attacks; and affected communities have blamed security agencies for not protecting them against their attackers who they said were herdsmen. Many Nigerians have also blamed President Muhammadu for not acting strongly enough to condemn the attacks and arrest the perpetrators.
Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, who criticised the presidency’s response, stated that “I have yet to hear this government articulate a firm policy of non-tolerance for the serial massacres that have become the nation’s identification stamp.”
The JNI, however, said the authorities have absolved the herdsmen, mainly of Fulani ethnicity, of involvement in the attacks. The JNI’s claim is contrary to that of a leader of the Fulani herdsmen who admitted to PREMIUM TIMES that they carried out the attack in Benue as a retaliation to the murder of some of their leaders
“Well, the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State has debunked the rumours, likewise the Inspector General of Police has also debunked the insinuations over those being blamed,” the JNI said.

JNI therefore condemns in strong terms these repeated heinous attacks and once again calls on the relevant security agencies to brace up to the trends, in order to put a stop to this ugly tide, as human lives are sacred and must be seen to be treated as so.
JNI and indeed all Nigerians, view the fall out of these repeated attacks, particularly the taking up of arms against other citizens as another trend of insecurity that portends grave danger to the Nation. We must not forget so soon the adverse effect of the so called Boko Haram group, that claimed the lives of many thousands innocent lives. Hundreds have been abducted, the males forced into insurgency and the females into slavery. Millions more are wallowing in Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in Nigeria and in Refugee Camps in neighbouring countries. Public and private properties worth trillions of Naira have been destroyed.
We therefore call for a thorough investigation by appropriate agencies in order to fish out the evil perpetrators, bring them to justice and forestall re-occurrence. The repeated heinous acts of attacks are crimes against the citizenry and the perpetrators are therefore criminals and must be treated so. We must thus be cautious of packaging crimes on religious and ethnic garments. Crimes are abominable and whoever commits them is criminal. What is wrong with this region.sultan, what is the problem. The same way you vehemently opposed goodluck's fight against boko haram is now gearing up again.sultan if you have a clue to who the bastards are then tell us.the north reported ihejirika to icc for fighting boko haram and called him names but today buratai's massacring of shiites received accolades .sultan of sokoto if the murderers are not fulani herdsmen then tell us who they are.you are all looking for ways to justify the grazing of those cattle and I bet you that the rest of nigerians would no longer sit back and watch those cattle feast on their crops.Sultan, have you ever asked why peasant farmers are mostly attacked.simply because they try to protect their crops. Well, if may add let these farmers begin to use charms that will cause deadly rashes to come upon any creature that steps on their farm. All these demonstrations, wailings and so on are useless.Let us go back to our traditional practice where pythons would devour strangers with evil intention that enters the community.iam not ignorant of the murderers charms but we all know that charm dey pass charm. Traditional practice is simply the answer and let us see how they would react when inflicted with such plagues, alas it will help us to identify these killer squad on the rampage.

After the Agatu attack, a leader of fulani herdsmen confessed that they carried out the mayhem since the local people killed their cattle. Why this blatant lie again? Maybe it is Igbo or yoruba herdsmen that have been doing this carnage. This one Nigeria thing is becoming unbecoming so fast.
