Igbos are not known for killing fellow Nigerians unless attacked.
Must your Fulani and Igbo remain glued to one Nigeria?

When two groups of people can't get on in one country, the two groups must be made to separate for different countries.

Why must lust for sweet crude and parasitism make some people force one Nigeria including Igbo?

If the Fulani herdsmen are allowed to openly carry automatic assault rifles, then everybody in Nigeria should be entitled to do so. It is silly to arrest any non-Fulani person in Nigeria for carrying a kitchen knife. I could not agree any more with Sultan of Sokoto on this one.

An organisation led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, has described as “absurd” and “unfortunate” the widespread insinuation that Fulani herdsmen are responsible for the attacks on villagers in Benue, Enugu, Nasarawa and other parts of the country.
The Jama’atu Nasril Islam, JNI, a coalition of several Islamic groups in Nigeria, stated this on Sunday. The Sultan is the head of the JNI.
In the statement, signed by Khalid Aliyu, the organisation’s secretary-general, the JNI said it was shocked by the attacks.
“Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) received with great shock and deep concern the news of incessant killings and maiming of innocent lives and the destruction of public and private properties.
“Of particular concern are the brutal murders of people in Agatu-Benue state, Nnibo-Enugu state and some parts of Nasarawa state.
“It is indeed alarming that within few weeks, deadly attacks were reportedly unleashed while the perpetrators go un-arrested. JNI therefore condemns in strong terms these repeated heinous attacks and once again calls on the relevant security agencies to brace up to the trends, in order to put a stop to this ugly tide, as human lives are sacred and must be seen to be treated as so,” the statement said.
The JNI said the attacks were criminal in nature and should be treated as such.
“The repeated heinous acts of attacks are crimes against the citizenry and the perpetrators are therefore criminals and must be treated so.”
Foramfera
It, however, said the attacks were not carried out by Fulani herdsmen.
“It is indeed absurd and most unfortunate that certain groups or people ascribe the incidence on ethnic and/or religious premise and to whimsically apportion blame in order to batter the gradual restoration of peace and security in Nigeria,” it said.
The JNI, which commiserated with the victims of the attack, also called for “concerted introspection and commitment by relevant agencies to take proactive and effective measures in addressing this pernicious problem.”
Nigerians have condemned the attacks; and affected communities have blamed security agencies for not protecting them against their attackers who they said were herdsmen. Many Nigerians have also blamed President Muhammadu for not acting strongly enough to condemn the attacks and arrest the perpetrators.
Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, who criticised the presidency’s response, stated that “I have yet to hear this government articulate a firm policy of non-tolerance for the serial massacres that have become the nation’s identification stamp.”
The JNI, however, said the authorities have absolved the herdsmen, mainly of Fulani ethnicity, of involvement in the attacks. The JNI’s claim is contrary to that of a leader of the Fulani herdsmen who admitted to PREMIUM TIMES that they carried out the attack in Benue as a retaliation to the murder of some of their leaders
“Well, the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State has debunked the rumours, likewise the Inspector General of Police has also debunked the insinuations over those being blamed,” the JNI said.

I weep for this nation.

I remember during the early Jonathan administration days, the northern leaders/elders denied the presence of boko haram and even denied their existence. They claimed it was the Nigerian soldiers who who were on a disguised and disillusioned massacre spree and hence Jonathan was given an ultimatum to call off the tanks and battalions in the north or he gets impeached. Later on boko haram grew in strenght and wrecked havoc in the North.

The same denial process by these northern leaders has just begun. Once beaten twice shy. This will not happen again.

If these so called fulani herdsmen are left unchecked via the deceit of the northern elders to the presidency, they 'll grow in strenght and continue theirs evils. Pple will be forced to take up arms against them and these may lead to heightened civil unrest.

The sultan said they're not Fulani herdsmen and at the same time you said he couldn't he condemned thet criminality of the herdsmen. Continue you hear.

A monarch of his status deserves to be treated with respect, care and caution if nothing for his age and powers. Moreover his opinion cannot have much effect on whatever way the Southern farmers want to react except for the small Moslem segment. So why insult the monarch? For insult sake?

If the people carrying out the attack are not Fulani herdsmen, who are they? This initial denial mode gave rise to widespread of Boko Haram!! Instead of them to call their people and talk to them, they are there spewing thrash angry .. Those herdsmen going about killing, raping and destroying farm lands(People's mean of livelihood) are Fulani herdsmen.. #FACT!

Military offensive against Boko Haram anti-North - Buhari

Ihejirika is killing Northerners in the guise of fighting BH - Northern Elders Forum

We are watching angry
This northern leaders are all complicit in this issue. Are they not the ones that own the cattle those mofos herd about, acting like their father is the owner of the lands. I suspect they are now talking because of the recent ultimatums and threats issued out by militias and sociocultural groups in the south. Its going to affect business, hence the denial. When the spokesman of the fulani herdsmen had already admitted they were involved. Northerners are funny.
