I'm just so tempted to jump up in excitement, but then I remember the innocent lives taken could be any of my relatives. Violence will never quench this fire.

Gunmen at the weekend killed 83 cows at Adayi in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
At Loko, the monarch claimed that about 20 people have been killed by gunmen in the last few weeks.
The killings were suspected to be reprisals by gunmen who crossed over from Benue State.
Although security agencies have stepped up investigation, the Fulani leader of Adayi area of Loko, Mallam Bideri Ahmadu, alleged that suspected Agatu gunmen from Benue State might be behind the killings.
The traditional ruler of Loko, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed Sabo, alleged that Agatu youths might have perpetrated the act.
The Fulani community leader, Mallam Bideri Ahmadu, who addressed reporters in Loko, alleged that Agatu youths crossed over from Benue State about 10:30am last Saturday.
He said the suspects had wanted to “rustle the cows in their boats across River Benue, but the cattle went berserk because of sporadic shootings.”
Ahmadu said: “Upon realising they could not achieve their aim, the Agatu youth opened fire on the cows, killing 83. The injured ones are in the bush.”
The Mai Loko, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed Sabo, said in the last few weeks, over 20 men, women and children were killed during attacks on Fulani people by Agatu youths from Benue State.
He said the Loko Development Area has only two police officers with no rifles and appealed for more security presence.
Sabo urged the Fulani not to retaliate because the government was looking into the crisis.
The Director of Personnel Management (DPM) of the development area, Danlami Umar, said the “fishing community has suffered a setback because the riverine area has been taken over by Agatu youths, who kill at will.
Police spokesman Ismaila Numan said the Nasarawa Division received a report of the killing of 83 cows by suspected hoodlums and investigation had started.
A security source said: “There has been tension in the area since the killing of more than 300 people in Agatu area of Benue State by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
“We are suspecting reprisals by Agatu youths who do not want Fulani herdsmen in their area again.
“The crisis between the Fulani and the Agatu is posing a threat to life and property in the two states.
“Nasarawa and Benue governments have to step into the incessant clashes between the Fulani and the Agatu.”

Shebi, when the southerners were complaining about this fulani herdsmen and their barbaric act,the Northern governors including Nasarawa Governor had a meeting and came up with their selfish propaganda that an insult on an average fulani man is an insult to all Northerners instead of finding a lasting solution to this menace.
This is exactly the way Boko Haram started, and if care is not taken, this meyhem will escalate to the whole country including Northern zone and by then,it will be seemingly uncontrollable just like what is happening in the North-East now.
I don"t know when our Leaders will start thinking using their brain instead of their stomach for the benefit of mankind.

What this reprisal attack, and the intial one by the Fulanis on Agatu (which was a revenge attack) tells me is that Nigerians do not trust their Police and other law agents.

Part of it is impatience. Investigations take a long time, and have to be done properly so that the Police and the Prosecutor would have an airtight case. And investigations are hampered by people shielding criminals, and people refusing to tell the truth (and when the Police is forced to use force....they would shout human rights abuse.).

The main part is also the fact that the Police too does not respond on time to crime. If the Police had sorted this out when it was one cow, one herdsman, one farmer, one piece of land....we won't be here chatting about this issue. Now it has gone to 83 cows, several Fulanis, several Agatu indigenes, and lots of property and land destroyed. And there are threats of attacks in the future.

Even if we change the structures, do state police, do biafra, do regions,do grazing bill, greenbelt, etc etc....it won't sort out the problem....which is poor enforcement of the laws by the Police and the Citizens...as well as a lack of trust in the Law by the People. The Police has to respond to cases immediately. And the citizens ..farmers and herdsmen have to stop shielding and hiding criminals.(As one family in Kano found out some years ago..it is not in your interest to hide criminals because they are your kith and kin.) Because we have been doing the wrong thing for decades..ignoring problems when they were tiny..now them chickens have come to roost...looking like radioactive and dangerous mutants.

In the voice of the northern states governors: It is irresponsible to be blaming the Agatu youth for this killing or what proof does the Fulani people has to back up their claims. In my own opinion the Fulanis should expect more reprisal from all the regions they have committed murder unless they stop it.

Please ignore this poo. It's nothing but a ridiculous and childish attempt at laundering the image of the Fulani murders.

Notice that the narrator could NOT SPECIFICALLY say the EXACT or aproximate number of people that got killed ON THE DAY OF the attack. This is just a cheap attempt to stir up public sentiment and divert people's attention from the untold atrocities committed unhindered by these animals. How wicked.
