yes! It's more than a necessity. It simply helps you to focus and prevent distraction frm d immediate environment.

It's not a law nor commandment written in the Bible, it's just a tradition. But it's necessary to avoid distractions.

There is no scripture to this effect of closing eyes... Just like there is no scripture for kneeling down or wearing scarf to pray... Hence if you can stay FOCUSED with your eyes open then pray that way... The main point is prayer must be without ceasing. Bless ya
