Please note that you need to confirm the permission on your phone b4 it's shown on your PC - something like attached pic. If you don't get that, mind a WhatsApp chat with screenshot details of your device manager window while the phone is connected?

Follow the following

Settings > about > MIUI version > tap on it 5-7 times

Then go to

Settings> additional settings> Developer options> USB debugging > enable it

then try after a reboot
