I have tested it, is less than 2hours, probably different conditions

No wahala.

I used to charge my RN7 then with the same 18 watts charger and it usually took around 1hr40mins on the average. It takes longer on RN9s no matter the condition. I've charged switched off, on airplane mode, in a cool room on wifi and in hot/warm condition.

This is my own experience.

You did not seem to understand me.

I do understand how batteries charge.

My concern is as follow.

1. Charging appears a bit slow.
2. Noticed that the battery charged at 3.6A(3600mah) just once ever and for a brief moment.
3. After some time, charging fluctuates and it's not even up to 80% at what point charging starts to wind down. At say 50%, the phone is taking in 2.5A in one moment and another, phone is drawing just 1A or 1.5A or even worse .5A(500mah). For flash charging or even regular charging, shouldn't it maintain an almost constant amperage until 80%?

My problem is inconsistent amperage for a phone that's barely used. Also shouldn't the phone draw more power when it's in use or before 80%? My Umidigi Power (5150mah) usually draws 2.5A during normal charge up till 80% but under use while charging, it could go as high as 2.6A and 2.7A on heavy use. If the phone could go as high as 18watts, 0.5A, 1A, 2A should be a cause of concern except in the instance where the phone is actually using 9V:2A.

The fluctuations are a cause of concern and could this be the reason why the battery appears to be charging slowly?

I don't think you can trust that Ampere app 100%. I notice that if one constantly checks phone while charging, it may appear to Charge slower than normal.

I suggest charging without excessive monitoring, you may notice that it charges normally.

As long as it's a 4000-5000 mah battery, 18watt fast Charge shouldn't be more that 2hours 30minutes from 0-100

RN9s actually takes more than 1:45 mins with an 18 watts charger. It takes 2 hours+ from 0-100%

welcome to our league. redmi note 4 was my first Xiaomi in 2017 when my fellow corpers saw it they were surprised that a phone of 49500( from AliExpress then) could have that great battery with more ram and Rom together with performance. Great phone but I think redmi 7 is greater now
You don't compare a Redmi Note series to a Redmi series ever. The Note 4 is still better.

Before you come for me, I equally use the Redmi 7 and I've also used to Note 4 in the past.

That is why. Your data been on increases heat. Temperature affects battery be it discharge or charging. So the SOC will have to regulate the charging speeds as regards the temperature at every point in time.
Does it mean that this estimated charging time is wrong?
My data is turned off.
