And I get SOT of 12hours on 4G constant browsing

pls is Xiaomi miA3 advisable to buy to note8 and 9 coming from note7. I prefer mia3 due to fingerprint display sensor and larger screen

Same screen size and same screen resolution, Same Network and temperature conditions?

What of if Gaming was involved intermediately?

That's why I didn't include all those
They can reduce the SOT by maybe 1 or 2 hours tops

For the gaming
From what he said he didn't game and I quoted my SOT for only 4G constant browsing

With 1 or 2 hours of gaming my SOT reduces to 8 hours

You also account for standby time?

The higher the standby time especially when the long standby is random SOT reduces as well.

Then you account for phone age and battery wear as well.

My Nokia 2.1 of 2018 on heavy usage currently last for 7 hours SOT
I am sure Redmi note 8 is older than it.

The guys SOT is very poor
That's just my view

Im suppose get at least 9 hours ( not gaming though normal 4G browsing)

Good morning

Genius45 and other gurus please help out.

I made a setting that made my phone to stay few minutes while idle before the data turns off automatically. I thought I was saving data but now it is really disturbing me. I can't work with my laptop for a long time without the phone sleeping and data automatically off

What can I do Please help
Where can I find this settings to turn it off cry

I got even better SOT than your Nokia 2.1 on my swelling RN5 battery.

And about the guy his battery is okay just factors not related to the phone that is affecting his SOT.

When you tamper with settings always remember the road that took you there.

7 hours SOT....4500mah

It's more than enough for an average an above average user unless you want sun to charge your phone
Can it be better though ? Yes

i am planning to sell my mi max 2 around january next year. I am no longer comfortable with the big size as i want to make my android phone my major and only phone(i use the phone together with nokia asha 200). Its 6.44 inch 16:9 normal aspect ratio. With stereo speakers. Everything in the phone is great especially the long battery life 5300 mah with 18watts fast charging. I use the 4/64gb variant

Different chipset.
Different screen resolution and brightness
All this things and more account for how long your phone will last
We don't even know what the 7 hours u showed actually represents (what you did with the phone )
My screenshot showed the things I did on the phone including almost an hour on pubg.......

They have done this battery classes severally here and me I know I'm happy with what I have

If you use a MediaTek chipset then I hands off

They don't have good battery management

With gaming it comes down to 9-10hours SOT
That's COD for 1-2hours

You ain't sure because that's not even true.

Redmi Note 8 announced 29th August, 2019 and released 16th October, 2019 and Nokia 2.1 announced 2018 May and released in August 2018.

So, which is older?

Thank you, you welcome.

That what a typo boss

I meant to say the Redmi is new compare to the Nokia 2.1 to counter what that guy said of ageing affecting the battery that badly
