This is not going to end well if refineries are not working, naira falls further or oil prices increase -- official pump prices could go as high as N300/litre!

Presently, importation costs NNPC roughly N100/litre.

While it could cost as low as N70/litre if we had working refineries @ prevailing crude prices and official xchange rate.

Shame on the gov't and anyone comparing AGO with PMS -- for every equipment that uses diesel, there are probably 500-1000 more using PMS.

Kudos to pipeline vandals and their apologizers -- we will all bear the consequences.

This is not what the people voted Buhari for, if the government cannot tackle cross border smuggling and pipeline vandalism, then that's a big, big, shame after all the campaign.
You deserve a hug bro and a chilled bottle of Moet! I know you to be a Buhari fan but never a zombie. Keep it up bro!

This Govt penchant for telling lies is just unimaginable. U said d Labour Unions were part of d discussion and within hours this rebuttal. How do u hope to sustain this pricing template when d marketers source d Fx from d black MKT or u have d magic wand to stabilize d dollar?. D govt need to abolish d dichotomy of official and bureau d change rates or better still sell Fx to d mkters and ensure strict supervision to avoid diversion. With this Labour's position I must say this govt is very insensitive.

Bros, there is a difference between DISCUSSION and AGREEMENT! Having a discussion with the unions doesn't necessarily imply the unions agreed.

DO you want fuel or not? If the Govt cannot provide fuel as the pipelines have been blown, do you want marketers to import PMS or not?
If the Govt is struggling to pay salaries, do you want them to divert the funds to pay subsidy or you want them to pay salaries?
If the Forex earning of govt has reduced drastically because oil price has gone southwards, do you want the little to be used to pay subsidy or used for infrastructural development?

There are always choices to be made in life, this government has made a choice. The NLC can make their own choice and go on strike. they should also be aware that once the wage burden becomes too much, workers are gonna be sacked! We can't eat our cake and have it! We squandered all the mega earnings when crude was $110, now we have no savings to fall back on. Na simple cause and effect things.

I don't understand who is peeping on the other's thoughts. my comment on another thread;
pls, no one should bring the excuse of gej was
protested against because he is a minority. He was
fought for and installed by this same set of people, his
regime in few months recorded astronomical increase
in subsidy payment with no tenable explanation, with
the removal done on Jan 1st, so many things that
could propel one to join a protest against it then.
pa bubu, which kind nonsensical nonsense be this, am
for subsidy removal, but not when you can't protect
our pipelines to give our refinery crude for our
consumption, abi kachukwu a fashola don dey tell you
nonsense talk, abeg there is poverty in the land, it's
not yet time to run a capitalist system.
All the nonsense union will not come out now, na to
dey carry placards defend politicians eating their
destiny and that of their generations unborn so that
their own(politicians) generation will not leave the path
of stealing. Nans, asup, ASUU, and every other
academic union including professional bodies, you
won't defend this ooo. God sees you all.

In America PMS is sold for $80 in Europe it goes for $90. in most African countries it is sold equivalent to 175 Naira even when they have a working refinery refining the products.

I must commend the federal govt on this increase. This will curb corruption and add value to the growth and development of Nigeria.

We the Nigerian youths are solidly behind the FG. NLC are toothless bulldogs.

Emergency meeting for Friday and that they call emergency! Pitiful.... But this was what all GEJ people explained back then and yet we turned down the acceptance of the removal, anyway, with pipeline vandalism largely in the south South, it's not too misplaced removing this so called subsidy as we're not even feeling the effects of the payment of the subsidy. Things are as expensive as when there was no subsidy, so what's now being subsidized?
Abeg, corruption is just too high, let's scrap the thing once and for all! And this would also allow for the diversification so wanted as much funds would be freed.

Pls don't mind that s.tupid Idi.ot, what part of the U.S is he talking about, in Ohio it's between $1.97 and $2.25 per gallon= about 4.* liters or so. (Mind you, Minimum wage in Ohio is $8/ hour. So if you work say 6 hours a day, the minimum pay is 8*6=$48.
Sometimes I just read without responding but for this I find it difficult.
If one is not knowledgeable, it's better to keep silent, than to come spew trash on such forum. He has not got his facts right, these are the people suffering and smiling. How on earth would the world be enjoying the drop in price of gas, yet Nigerian's are paying from their nose for what they have been blessed with.
It's sad, the more reason why it becomes difficult to consider returning home.
It's really Sad. It's well with Nigeria.

My Bro that guy is just a deluded bigoted id:iot. Stay away ooo cos the country has gone to the dogs...APC have made that possible.

Buhari is a dog coming back to eat its own vomit. Karma is a biatch, you blamed GEJ for daring to talk about subsidy removal but run like a cat with its tail on fire to do the same thing at the first hint of difficulty your government is facing.

The only policies still working in your admistration are those you copied or carried over from GEJ. Today you say one thing and the next day change and say another like a confused maniac. You call Nigerians criminals and cant even defend your country when foreigners call us the same thing. It is fantastic stupidity that will make a man who claims to stand against corruption to ride on the back and surround himself with proven corrupt greedy thiefs.

Please continue in your clueless way, we brought it upon ourselves.

The price hike is intolerable, insensitive and quite ridiculous, at this age of price slump in crude worldwide, our oil prices are going up. Government should think of more creative ways tomake money-pls this fuel increase is intolerable.

The price is too f-cking high, what is stopping us from opening up the marketto more suppliers-worldwide oil prices are crashing,in America it's about 1.40$ for a gallon-4litres. Buhari is not being proactive and intelligent here. What he should have done is ensure large scale supplies and imports, this will stabilize the price, before removing subsidies.

Everywhere in the world, citizens enjoy subsidies, its not our fault that the government can not punish those sabotaging the subsidy scheme, the people should not carry the brunt, for their inefficiencies.

There is a big difference between Buhari and Jonathan. Buhari is the only President in Nigerian history to have really won an election. Yar'Adua never won 2007 and Jonathan never won in 2011. Buhari has been winning all the electns he contested but only became President in 2015 because of PDP error of employing tribalism in an election where the opponent comes from majority.

Nigerian elites don't actually like Buhari because of his anti corruption stance.
