OP is absolutely right. The gas plant idea was for the sole purpose of arm twisting the government like it's happening now with the avengers. Like the avengers, many others will arise if they fail due to this grand plan that favours them. Although this idea came later as they became wiser especially during GEJ regime. But OP, what is happening is a simple law of power - always make your adversary depend on you. The north was fully aware of this from the beginning, that's why they were quick to buy into majority of the oil rigs in the Niger Delta to protect themselves. Just imagine the north having little or no stake there, Nigeria would have been history a long time ago

I think we should stick with what we already have expertise in. Alternative energy sources can come in as supplements.
In the UK majority of their power comes from coal burning, using gas and other sources as supplementary forms of energy. For the power to reach homes, they also come via gas lines [I will check this fact later to ensure accuracy]. Why they have no form of avengers destroying gas lines still baffles me. I guess if a place is surrounded in lush forests and jungles the people will act wild in accordance.

Portugal for 3 days or more running powdered the whole of Portugal with renewable energy from windmill to solar and this one here is spewing ignorant nonsense.

How are industrial are you more than Portugal and Germany the largest economy in Europe that powdered the whole of Germany last week with renewable energy and not a drop of oil or gas?

Oil and gas is fast becoming a thing of the past and only foolish and irresponsible countries invests in fosil power plants these days.

Instead of spending billions of dollars on fosil power plants, we should be erecting windmills, letting rhe discos start installing roof top solar panels to supply uninterrupted power supply and charge same way they charge now. We wont even need transmission lines or other needless investments.

They should even be subsidizing solar installation with all the billions There are wasting on power plants.

There are too many easy way out, our leaders are just too slow and old in their thinking.


With solar and wind or other forms of renewable energy, norhing major breaks down and whatever is fixable in no time ans cheaply
