Caveat:
The truths I am about to disclose is only for serious ladies who have ears.

A well known Dictum says "Do not judge a book by its cover." This adage does not completely apply to most African women especially ours truly, Nigerian ladies, when it comes to choice of who to marry. Often times, the signs that conspicuously reveal the overall ideology/nature of a prospective wife speak so loud but for some reasons, our noble bachelors fail to pick up these ugly signs. Out of the bowels of much concern, I have come up with these nuggets:

No need for unnecessary pleasantries so let's get it on. I'll try to make the points as self-explanatory and easy to read as possible.

1. She is financially daft: For example, She is a student/graduate with outrageously expensive stock such as phones, make up, hair dos etc but still borrows laptop to do her homework, apply for jobs etc.

2. She has not read even one book the previous year.

3. She does not submit to the authorities of her local church/social gathering.

4. She does not know how to cook.

5. Her apartment is often untidy. During my service year, I went to a lady's apartment unannounced. I was surprised to see dirty undies, unwashed pots and all manner of filths. This was not a one time occurrence

6. She does not value time: Is she always late for functions? What were her reasons? We know that ladies are so keen about their looks which is not a big deal. Why not make provisions for dressing/make up in your daily schedule?

7. She exposes parts of her breasts or/and buttocks when she dresses or keeps friends that dress this way. This only attests to her acute moral decadence. Most guys like seeing ladies in revealing outfits but will take a properly dressed lady over half nude ladies as wives any day any time. As simple as that

8. She drinks or smokes: The odds of a woman being a good wife material based on the parameters of this clause is infinitesimal

9. She loves clubbing: same explanation with 8.

10. She gets so angry reading these carefully constructed quantum of truths especially points 1,3 and 7. The anger is the energy released from the exothermic reaction between the contents of this piece and her already crystallised ideologies.

11. She does not see anything wrong with sex before marriage, watching porn etc. Her mindset has become brittle from adopting seemingly intelligent ideas that are nothing but distortions of morality, resulting from her failure to heed to the prescriptions of the Creator. Any attempt to reset her already brittle mindset would definitely be catastrophic.

12. She is a feminist: while some of the arguments made by prominent feminists are valid, the catechism of feminism as a whole is rooted in coagulated and sedimented self centredness resident in the inner chambers of some over ambitious female folks. feminism is selfishness in disguise. Most feminist want to eat their cake and have it. I won't say much. Take it like that.

13. At age >24, the first thing that comes to her mind on getting money is shoes and bags. I met a lady who had trouble paying for her final year project binding but spent her annual state scholarship on shoes and bags. I disqualified a pretty lady in my department who was head over heels for me based on the provision of this section.

14. She has the habit of borrowing money to buy clothes/asi o bi. A variant of being financially daft.

15. She asks you for money in < 1 month of dating. Aggravating this is if the money she asks for is to spend on frivolities. A well cultured wife material will even be embarrassed if given money at an early stage of dating/relationship. A gold digger, daft/shameless lady or headache material will ask for money early in a relationship. Frivolities as mentioned in the context of this section includes but not limited to airtime, money for shoes and bags, handout, transport and their variations

16. She does not treat people with respect. She may be nice to you but watch her actions towards others especially people of low social strata. Is she dramatic? Are her communications towards lowly people always laced with obscene languages and molecules of condescending remarks? Does she speak harshly to market women, gatemen, taxi drivers etc.? Watch out for these clues.

17. She ranks wealth and stature ahead of godliness and intellect.

- Only wise wife materials will positively acknowledge at least 90% of this write-up

Truth hurts. It is one thing to have engaged in premarital sex and other related acts due to high libido, naivety etc. and feel bad afterwards, it another thing to not see anything wrong with it. The former can be helped easily, but the latter will require special intervention.

20. The spoilt brat. Whoever marries this type of lady has entered Gbede! You'll have to meet all her needs to please her. She'll walk over you. Grumble at you, complain alot. She will expect the same pampering her parents gave her from you... Plus.. She will cry alot or get angry for long.
