Yahaya Bello, APC Vs Kogi State University Lecturers & Students: Im just curiously wondering why some of us are keeping quiet even with the nonsensical ongoing industrial action by ASUU, Kogi State University chapter (ksu), even when when the govt. is incommunicado about what she has decided to do. What has changed, really? I rooted for Yahaya Bello' because of Wada' helpless cluelessness. Now, it seems de ja vu is taking a turn on us. First, they told us the state was broke due to irregular or reduced monthly allocation from the FG. We were advised to pray and hope on bailout fund which would be used to clear all salary debts immediately. They said screening would be conducted, that of the lecturers have been long completed. The incumbent Governor announced that he received the bailout on the 18th of May, 2016. I would like to ask? Why are we not talking even in the face of no explanation? Why are those who called Wada unprintable names now cowing in quiet? With one ear, I heard the Governor even said the strike was politicised by the Kogi State University VC to witch-hunt his administration because he is Ebira, relaxing on the logic that Wada was an Igala man and the Igala VC never went on strike with his lecturers when he was in power, forgetting that the same VC has been providing soft loans for the lecturers to cushion the effect of the inconsistent menstrual pain called salary. It is also on record that the Students Union Government (SUG), in recent weeks embarked on many Ajala visits to the Glass House in attempts to pacify the Governor to roll the salary backlogs, however many described those efforts as fruitless as no exact person can give an informed position on when the lecturers would be paid. The warts in my heart is to learn daily that Kogi State University, which was the best State citadel of knowledge during the FS Idachaba' VC regime, and the dream of many lecturers in other institutions has in recent time witnessed brain drain. Informal quarters have placed the number of lecturers in massive exodus from the university to other institutions to be above fourty (40). A student of the institution, Mr, Ali Abbah also reported earlier that the Governor had dissolved the School's Governing Council, which without that, results cannot be approved for NYSC mobilisation for graduated students. It is also worthy to note that under this Yahaya Bello' regime, no one seems to know what anyone is about to do. For every sensitive administration, communication between government and the governed is key to the success of that administration. It is painful that students should be the grass of any elephant and government war. We cannot take this anymore. Our future is been held hostage to what we don't even understand. Please, as a concerned Kogite, I don't care who becomes the governor, if he likes, he can be an Igbo man, but let him provide us quality leadership. It is insensitive for the state governor not to give priority to what drives the excellence of his state (Education). The painful pill to swallow is to know that 20BN bailout fund is now at the coffers of thestate government and she is yet to anything while the institution' lecturers seek greener pastures elsewhere. It seems anything APC is now actually insensitive to the plight of those she governs. They have subjected the fate of the students to political expediency. Enough is enough! Something has to be done this week or they'll be massive revolt from the students. Please share this post until His Excellency, Gov. Yahaya Bello and his Media team sees this to explain what is going on. We are tired of speculations. Comrade Promise Emmanuel 12 Likes 3 Shares |

elpatch:Please brother I need some answers. Are you saying the Lautech teaching hospital Oshogbo has been strike since and haven't resumed at any time for the past eight months?Heard from someone they resumed around late April to early May. Also, please have the doctors there been working and attending to patients all this while, or they've been on full strike since for the past eight months too? I'll be very glad if you can provide me this information. Thanks. |

This good for nothing gov ought to be concerned about the plight of kogites because he shouldn't forget he inherited votes from late prince Audu of blessed memory. This young gov ought to be vibrant and delivering dividends of democracy so that when the youths wants to via for political office, they will be considered. This tribalistic gov ought to be winning the hearts of kogites with good governance because he should remember he is from the minority. |
