This may sound like funny question but people might gain one or two things from this. . Why do PHCN or NEPA as we popularly know it terminate electricity supply immediately it starts to rain. Must there always be blackout immediately the clound turns black. This has been happening since independence.

Really our power network connections are sub-standard and our shoddy jobs where we ignore international standards.

A radioactive plant is just the way forward

It dosn't always have to go dark when rain starts. But thunderstorms are destructive to most of these electrical equipments and turning it off is a good idea to prevent damage.

Op you think say here na Abroad wey der cables are buried under ground....

Its because the feeder cables in the Nigerian circuit systems are not strong enough to withstand heavy downpour coupled with storms, which may result in faults dat may cost millions of Naira to rectify. So its best to take out supply while its raining to prevent such faults.

Faulty underwear... No i mean Faulty Ground cables... to avoid more damages due to water conduction ... But they should fix it... it was happening in my area and stays off for not less than 6hrs but it has been fixed.

Ideally, yes but can we maintain a radioactive plant?
We must learn to adhere to international standards and quit cutting corners or playing 'over-smart'.
We must train and retrain workers, be extremely safety conscious and include some decency and proffessionalism in our work ethics.
