I heard a girl making a phone call, something like " Jide, where are you " in Yoruba ( Jide, nibo LO wa ? ) , yoruba use "o" for kids or someone below their age and use "e" for adult or someone older than them. and the conversation kept going . this girl is very young , but who cares about her call ? some minutes later, a man in his 60's ( with a white trimmed beard ) came in a Small car , guess what ? that is JIDE . my point is because of what could make this man lose his dignity and respect to the extent that a girl of 20-23 years refer to him with his firstname " Jide" ? the funniest part is this man might get angry if his housewife should refer him to with his first name or call it lack of respect on the part of his wife ( yes most men are like that ) , and I imagine the angry look on his face , even one of his sons or daughters call him JIde , to the extent of saying " nibo LO wa " why do some men behave irrational like this ? |
