The smaller the state, with large human resources(skill labour), the faster its development and the easier its governance. |

Why not situated huge ranches along rivers and tributaries up North to be used as grazing reserves? Cheap land is critical for commercial livestock farming. Just irrigate with waters from rivers and plant silage making grasses. Minister of agriculture, do you need my help? This is not a 'fulani herdsmen' and religious angle. IT'S THE COMMON SENSE ANGLE 2 Likes |

Re: List Of Nigerian States By Area by Olabestonic001(m): 1:42pm On Jun 20, 2016 |
MalcoImX: No, states should be according to their sustainability and not size. What's the use of a big head with small brain? What's the use of a large landmass without Sufficient Human Resources and Natural Resources? Anambra is better than more than 50% of the Northern enclaves while Lagos Trumps them all. So, why the fuss? And why are Fulani Herdsmen all over the place with this Large Land Mass? We NEED introspection in this country. 3 Likes |

MalcoImX: This your Map must have been drawn by a BLIND MAN! How does Kwara State become a Northern State? Does Bukola or Gbemisola Saraki sound like Tanko or Wushishi or Nasumu? Even Benue that is in the Middle Belt has suddenly become a Northern State? You these Northerners are greedy-die, walahi! And BTW, how do you carve out 20 states from a virtually empty land... or na Buhari COWS go occupy and live in the space? Yeye dey smell, big time! Lastpage! 3 Likes |

emmalexabl:this is the wackiest and dumbest logic ever. There is no way a state with a smaller land mass is better and more useful than one with a bigger one, with all things being equal. Bigger land mass means more land for houses, factories, industries, farmlands and more space to accommodate humans in the event of population growth. I can guess the region you come from from this statement. 1 Like |

If Nigeria where to be well structured that states/regions manage their resources and remit a defined percentage to the central government, i bet you, some states (no matter how big the size) will be merged as they may be big for nothing(Not able to use the abundant resources they have). Do you know that some of this state generate so little that they can not take care of 1/10th of the state(Check IGR). Nigeria has lazy governors/leaders that are not creative(new to zero sense of productivity). Time has come when we ask our aspiring political office holders what plan they have to increase the revenue of the state they intend to lead. We have a long way to go in this country. |
