Why Jamb.gov.ng Might Be A Fake Site by SirDavico(m): 1:48pm On Jul 05, 2016

Goodday Nairalanders. smiley

Honestly, I don't think http://www.jamb.gov.ng is a genuine website of JAMB. For all we know, it might be some peeps trying to draw traffic to their site, even going to the extent of creating such document that's been circulating online. Let me ask, has anyone seen the news on TV?

Well.... I'm not saying it's fake, i'm saying it might be fake. Why do I say that? Because in all JAMB's brochures i've checked, there're only three websites:

http://www.jambonline.org

http://www.jamb.org.ng

http://www.jambng.com

So let's all take every news with a pinch of salt.

Panic or over excitement is the last thing you'd want in this period of suspense.

So stay cool.

smiley Thank you smiley

with a domain name ending with .gov.ng? If your assertion were true, JAMB would have noticed it and warned candidates to steer away from the site

Quite true. But JAMB should have listed it as one of it's sites.

And here lies the doubt as to it's credibility.

My own concern is, all those media reporting this news are not quoting any Jamb or Fg representative, they are all quoting from premium reporters. I still await Jamb to validate it in other not to be over excited or afraid of this policy.

JAMB.GOV.NG IS REAL. It is JAMBNG.COM THAT IS FAKE.

The PROPOSED JAMB MODEL FOR SCREENING OF RECOMMENDED CANDIDATES by Jamb is on page 28 of that document and is so simple to understand as follows:

1. Screening of candidates shall be for those offered
Provisional Admissions ONLY.
1. No written examination to be conducted.
2. Verification of Course Requirements (O’ levels or A’ levels).
3. Verification of valid JAMB results by checking:
i. Online Result Slip
ii. Printout
iii. Provisional Admission Letter
iv. Photo Album
v. Checklist
vi. Biometrics

5. Institutions are free to source from other Course(s) to
compensate for SHORTFALL in any of the criteria.

No specific screening method was put forward by JAMB, so Unis would be at liberty to pick SSCE and JAMB result criteria to be used by them during screening. But the screening must not be another exam.
In fact Unis may just check if you meet their ssce requirement and give you admission upon JAMB provisional admission.

This has been my comprehension of the model, but then I find it ridiculous that popular media reporters didn't verify this before copying and pasting the news, thereby causing confusion everywhere.

Our comprehesion problem is legendary. And bloggers depend so much on copy n paste.

To me.. I'ono why a real jamb website should look that way..
I mean, the whole design and the structure doesn't make it look like a government owned site. Wtf! sad

plus naija bloggers don too fall my hands dz year.. Non of them understood the content in the PDF.. Even a whole NTA broadcasted trash.. #ConfusedNation

Her twitter handle @JAMBHQ looks fake and her facebook page can't be trusted. Here -

https://mobile.facebook.com/Official.JAMB/?refid=52&__tn__=C

we should look deeply into this..
