I object to point C of number 2. Ikot Ekpene is pronounced with the T. It isn't silent. I'm from that beautiful state though 4 Likes |

Frathermathy, when are you writing about Rivers state. @Topic I lived in Uyo from 2012-2014, also visited Oron and Ibeno beach after Eket. In all, i'd say Akwa Ibom is a nice place to be. Cinema at Tropicana, The karaoke spot opposite Davok suites, chillin in at night at Playground, Ibom golf course and resort, etc all combine to make Uyo a fun-filled place. Even chilling and drinking beer and suya during the afternoon at Plaza, while sezy Akwa Ibom damsels stroll bye. And if you ever make it down to Oron, visit the National museum and drink palmwine by the riverside bar while boats crisscross the river. On one of my journeys from Uyo to Oron, i remember stopping by Okopedi junction in Okobo to taste Ewa (dog meat) with fresh palmwine. Friendly people everywhere. Lemme not mention Akwa Ibom women. I still hold my fastest record ever in Akwa Ibom.cc Afam4Eva One love to NDPVF. 5 Likes |

I wonder if I can ever enjoy food from other States in Nigeria. Beautiful women and peace of mind,we have more than 5 languages -Ibibio, Annang ,Ekid ,Oron and others. The funny part is the fact that almost all the ethnic groups understand Ibibio while the Ibibio's fully understand Annang and partly understand Oron. Most of us understand our brother from the other side of the river(Efik). Ndo eyen Akwa Ibom, Mme dakkada.Yak Abasi adiong Akwa Ibom. 12 Likes |

mikaelzX: What year and which area? That's not true. The ITAM-ITU axis enjoy near-constant power supply. Same with Udua Ekpa, Nelson Mandela, the Ikot Ekpene road axis, Oron road axis, Nwaniba road axis and so forth. Abak Road has a better power supply than most parts of Nigeria. If there was no light where and when you served in Uyo, the only tenable reason is distribution - the transformer(s) in your area was/were faulty and the members of that community were not proactive enough to insist those incharge rectify the fault(s). 7 Likes |

siddoggg: Hater! Uyo is a tourist city and also an economic hub. Relaxation centers abound everywhere in Uyo to cater for these tourists and the working populace to unwind in their free time. I bet your state/city is several strata below Uyo. I dare you to mention it. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

I didn't need to check OP's name to know he is not from Akwa Ibom, but has tried. 1) In pronouncing "Ikot," the "t" is not silent. 2) it's "amesiere" not "mesiere" 3) "Ado okay" means "it is okay," "mmedo okay" means "I am okay," "Ammedo okay?" means "are you Okay?" Akwa Ibom ado okay," means "Akwa Ibom is okay," 4) thank you is "sosongo." it's not pronounced as it appears, I am limited by my keypad to use English vowels 8 Likes 1 Share |
